Over the next week and a half, the fantasy baseball writers here at fFake Teams are going to give you our 2012 Fantasy All Stars for each position for both the American League and the National League.

National League Catcher: Carlos Ruiz, PHI

Ruiz is having the best year of his career at the plate, hitting .356-.420-.579 with 11 HRs, 38 runs, 43 RBI, 3 stolen bases and a 30-16 strikeout to walk ratio. He is second in the NL with a .356 BA, third in the NL with a 1.000 OPS, and fifth in the NL with a .579 SLG. Amongst MLB catchers, he leads all catchers in BA, OBP and SLG, and is third in HRs and RBI. He is the lone bright spot in the Phillies lineup this season, a year where they have been Chase Utley and Ryan Howard for most of the season thus far.

Honorable Mention: Yadier Molina, STL (.312-.364-.519, 13 HRs, 34 runs, 45 RBI)

American League Catcher: A.J. Pierzynski, CHW

Pierzynski was almost a Dodger last offseason, but GM Kenny Williams came in with a late hour offer to keep his starting catcher, and he is probably counting his blessings today. Pierzynski is hitting .285-.331-.512 with 14 HRs, 36 runs and 45 RBI. He leads all MLB catchers in home runs and RBI, and is on pace for career highs in HRs (29) and RBI (92).

Honorable Mention: Joe Mauer, MIN (.324-.414-.445, 4 HR, 38 runs, 36 RBI)
