Lawrie or Zimmerman in Dynasty leauge?

I've got Brett Lawrie and Ryan Zimmerman on my dynasty team. I'm currently in some pretty serious talks to trade one of them for Yovani Gallardo. I don't need both Lawrie and Zimmerman to fill my one 3B slot, and I could certainly use another top tier starter in my rotation. So, my question for all of you is, would you rather have as your 3B in a dynasty; Lawrie or Zimmerman?

do you need a starter? I would want to keep both of them. Who are you other starting pitchers and hitting keepers?

25 man rosters, 11 team roto. My offense was near the top of the league this season and boosting my pitching should get me from bottom 4 to top 3.

Lawrie is great

But I don’t think its even close. Zimmerman by a long shot. Zimmerman isnt done improving yet and I don’t see Lawrie ever being as good as zimmerman is right now.

I don't quite agree

Lawrie has decent power, hits for a solid BA and can steal some bases. Not many 3bman out thare can steal bases, so he adds value in that respect. Zimmerman seems injury prone to me, so he may take a hit there.

I don't think Lawrie will hit 25 homeruns yearly, could be wrong.

And I really dont think he’ll hit .300. I wasnt really taking steals into consideration, mostly just hitting production.

but SBs impact a player's value and draft position

for me…..he could be a 20-85-20-.280 hitter in 2012….Zimm-25-90-.300……who has more value?

One other thing that is worth considering

is I’ve got steals elsewhere in my lineup…..See above for full roster. If I’m not getting SBs out of 3B, that’s probably a non issue with the speed elsewhere. FYI I won steals by a pretty wide margin this year, and Lawrie never played for me (picked him up after someone dropped him due to his top to the DL). Yes, perhaps Lawrie steals more bases, but I need power/average worse than steals.

I’m not saying I’d rather have one or the other with that bit, just tossing out a bit of info for you to chew on……
