Trade help

I've been rolling with Fred Jackson and Shady McCoy as my RB's. Arian Foster's healthy now so I looking to trade one of the RB's. Now I am mostly debating  over a Fred Jackson for Andre Johnson trade. My WR's are Brandon Lloyd, Brandon Marshall, Anquan Boldin, Victor Cruz, and Johnny Knox. I thought maybe the dude would sell low since Johnson's out for a couple weeks and F-Jax is doing great he's just expendable on my team with Foster's return and my weak WR corps. But what do y'all think? Go for that trade, find something better or sit back with all three 3 RB's? Thanks.

Take that trade now

You can wait 3 weeks for Andre Johnson comes back. By that time you’ll have probably the 2 best RBs in the league and one of the best receivers

It's always very nice to have a great RB3

and FJax certainly fits that bill nicely. That said, you do need a WR upgrade. Here’s the thing - I think you can do better than Andre Johnson. Don’t get me wrong, when Johnson is healthy, he’s elite. But he always seems to be nursing some nagging injury, if not missing games. And get this - he’s NEVER posted double-digit touchdowns, even when playing a full 16 games.

If you’re selling high on Fred Jackson now, why go after the guy who is going to miss the next 3 games? You need help at WR NOW, right? Why not package FJax and one of your lesser WRs and go after Fitzgerald, Jennings, Nicks, Steve Smith, etc.? Guys who are going to help you NOW and for the rest of the season.

In addition

In my competitive league, Andre Johnson is currently the 20th-ranked WR by points scored. Fred Jackson is currently the 4th-ranked RB. So, not even taking into consideration how much more valuable RBs generally are than WRs, FJax should command a higher price than Johnson, even though Andre has the better name recognition. Jackson is the established feature back (Spiller is on the outs, for sure for sure) in an offense that has shown elite ability, and against which defenses must respect the passing game, which opens up the running game. Johnson is out for 3 weeks and was already underperforming. Go bigger.

Agreed.

I would look for which owner of Jennings/Nicks/Megatron needs RB help the most and offer F-Jax straight up for one of them. Do it quick too, cause after the Philly game, Buffalo’s schedule gets tough. You’re in a great sell-high time, right now.

Megatron is a reach

I don’t think there’s any way his owner gives him up for a non-elite RB. The guy is having a serious stud season.

Andre Johnson

I would be surprised if he’s back before week 12 (week 11 bye). Houston should be in the driver’s seat for the division and there isn’t a reason to bring back AJ until he’s 100%.

Driver's seat

Will be determined after this week’s games. If Houston loses and Tennessee wins, then Houston finds themselves very much not in the driver’s seat. I would think that AJ being out 7 weeks would be quite unlikely, even though his injury did look unpleasant. Hamstrings are unpredictable, but 7 weeks is a stretch.
