It’s another edition of bold predictions for the week of NFL ahead!
1.) Jalen Hurts is a top 4 quarterback.
Justification: After back-to-back weeks throwing under 200 yards, I think we see a reemergence of Hurts’ arm against the Raiders this week. His pedigree for delivering points either with his legs or arm is too good and I think we see it on full display this weekend.
2.) Robby Anderson is a top 15 wide receiver.
Justification: He’s had 11 targets in two out of the last three weeks, he’s clearly a target that Sam Darnold prefers, his issue is bringing in those targets (something he did at a 26% rate last week). If he can get the catches (he had three drops last week), he should easily sit among the top dozen wide receivers. I’m thinking he’s been working on it all week eager to redeem himself.
3.) TJ Hockenson finishes outside the top 10 tight ends.
Justification: He is banged up and three of the last four weeks he fell outside this threshold. While talented, I’m not buying in big against the Rams this weekend.
4.) Josh Jacobs is a top 7 RB this week.
Justification: The Eagles have been a treasure trove for allowing running backs to score. Over the last four weeks they have allowed RBs to score a combined six TDs. Josh Jacobs isn’t TD dependent per se, but he is a TD force for the Raiders and should net at LEAST one score this weekend and likely 80+ yards.
5.) New York Jets vs. New England over/under is 42.5, give me the over at 47 points.
Justification: Turnover fest isn’t going to repeat itself for round two. Prior to the matchup earlier this year the matchup between these two averaged over 47 the last three times. I see a bit of back and forth happening with Wilson netting two TDs in the effort and Mac having some touchdowns as well.
