I hope it’s your lucky Week 13 out there, gamers. You’ll find no Dak Prescott or Taysom Hill in this space, as Thursday Night Football is obviously behind us. But here’s the best of the rest, complete with any latest injury notes as of Sunday morning. This week, we are without Jalen Hurts and Daniel Jones, and you’ll need to monitor the status of Kyler Murray just to be safe. Thankfully, he’s in the early round of games so you’ll have time to pivot, if necessary.
As always, haggle away in the comments if you see an egregious mistake. I’d love a good haggle. Otherwise, here’s hoping the gunslinger(s) that command your fantasy football teams today help you reach the coveted playoff picture in your respective leagues...
QB Rankings for Week 13
| Rank | Player Name | Team | Opponent | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Rank | Player Name | Team | Opponent | Notes |
Lamar Jackson | BAL | @ PIT | The Steelers defense is missing Joe Haden, and maybe TJ Watt. Herbert rushed for 90+ yards against this unit a couple of weeks ago.
Tom Brady | TB | @ ATL | He won't have Antonio Brown, but he still has Godwin, Evans, Gronk, and Fournette to torture this ATL unit with.
Josh Allen | BUF | vs NE | It's a really tough pass defense, but you can't bench Allen in season-long leagues, and he can always do damage with his legs.
Justin Herbert | LAC | @ CIN | That I'd rather have Herbert's volatility over Mahomes' speaks volumes.
Patrick Mahomes | KC | vs DEN | He's in a bottom 5 matchup for QBs and he's hardly been trustworthy this year.
Matthew Stafford | LAR | vs JAC | The Jags are a top 6 run defense at 4.0 Y/A. Something of a pass funnel (3rd worst at 7.1 NY/A).
Kirk Cousins | MIN | @ DET | The Lions are the stone worst pass defense by NY/A (7.5).
Joe Burrow | CIN | vs LAC | Should be the Joe Mixon show, but Burrow is typically good for low-end QB1 numbers.
Kyler Murray | ARZ | @ CHI | He's a true game-time decision even after missing a full month. Have a backup plan ready.
Derek Carr | LV | vs WAS | He's without Darren Waller, but he's shown an ability to spread the ball around.
Carson Wentz | IND | @ HOU | He's got two top 5 finishes at QB in his last four games, and this is a bottom 7 pass defense at 6.8 NY/A.
Russell Wilson | SEA | vs SF | He accounted for two scores last week, despite Metcalf not being involved. Arrow trending upward?
Tua Tagovailoa | MIA | vs NYG | The 'Fins are rolling, and now Tua gets stud WR DeVante Parker back to pair with Jaylen Waddle.
Taylor Heinicke | WAS | @ LV | Tua, Heinicke, TyGod...all here for their ability to run.
Tyrod Taylor | HOU | vs IND | He can run, AND the Colts have allowed 26 passing scores so far--most in the league.
Jimmy Garoppolo | SF | @ SEA | Jimmy G begins a string of pocket passers with less upside than the three names listed above.
Matt Ryan | ATL | vs TB | He'll be throwing a lot, and as a home underdog with a 50-point game total, you could do worse. I think.
Teddy Bridgewater | DEN | @ KC | He's consistently a mid-range QB2 option, this week is no different.
Gardner Minshew | PHI | @ NYJ | Minshew draws a Jets defense that ranks next to worst with a 7.2 NY/A and that has allowed 19 passing scores (bottom third in NFL).
Mac Jones | NE | @ BUF | This is the toughest defense against QBs on the season, but the loss of Tre White should help Jones.
Andy Dalton | CHI | vs ARI | Fields isn't ready to return from cracked ribs, so it's another week of low-end QB2 projection for the Red Rifle.
Ben Roethlisberger | PIT | vs BAL | The news that he's set to retire after this year isn't inspiring.
Jared Goff | DET | vs MIN | Some familiarity with WR Josh Reynolds could continue paying dividends, as could another week to get healthy.
Zach Wilson | NYJ | vs PHI | The Jets may have won last week, but it wasn't because of his soul-crushing 145 yards and a single TD against HOU.
Mike Glennon | NYG | @ MIA | The Dolphins are on a roll. If you're playing Glennon, look for a skill player with upside instead.
Trevor Lawrence | JAC | @ LAR | He has passed for four TDs in his last eight games, and underwhelmed against a soft ATL defense last week. His matchup is MUCH tougher than Glennon's.
