Welcome to the Roto Recap. For long-time readers, this is the new version of the Roto Report! I'm very excited to be doing this weekly now with a focus on the best-of-the-best and the worst-of-the-worst. I'll also throw in some advice on what to do with these breakouts and slumps. Let's take a look at the highlights from last week.
Hitters
Marcell Ozuna - .464, 5 HR, 13 RBI, 8 R
Adam Duvall - .310, 5 HR, 7 RBI, 8 R
Alex Dickerson - .500, 3 HR, 7 RBI, 8 R
Hit three home runs in a game, good chance you take player of the week honors. Week 7 saw a trio of hitters accomplish this feat. Both Dickerson (34% rostered) and Duvall (10% rostered) offer power upside but are susceptible to cold streaks.
Here’s a quick look at the standouts from the weekend to scoop up off the waiver wire:
- Lourdes Gurriel Jr. (72% rostered) - .467, 2 HR, 6 RBI, 5 R, 1 SB
- Brad Miller (49% rostered) - .318, 3 HR, 9 RBI, 5 R
- Justin Upton (42% rostered) - .409, 2 HR, 7 RBI, 7 R
- Victor Reyes (38% rostered) - .462, 2 HR, 6 RBI, 6 R, 1 SB
- Randy Arozarena (7% rostered) - .500, 3 HR, 4 RBI, 4 R, 1 SB
Pitchers
Dakota Hudson (2-0) - 12 IP, 4 ER, 9 H, 2 BB, 11 K
Hudson (55% rostered) gets top honor* at SP this week with two solid outings. Hudson now boasts a 3.19 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and 27 strikeouts over six starts.
Marco Gonzales - 9 IP, 1 ER, 4 H, 1 BB, 8 K, Win
Gonzales tossed a complete game vs the Angels on Monday. This was his only start of the week. Over 43.2 IP, Gonzales has a 3.09 ERA and 0.92 WHIP. This goes with 39 strikeouts and just four walks.
*Jacob deGrom, Shane Bieber, Tyler Glasnow, and Aaron Nola were technically better than Hudson but are all must start and their performances are to be expected.
Here's a few more names to add after impressive outings:
- Triston McKenzie (67% rostered) - 6 IP, 0 ER, 3 H, 0 BB, 6 K, Win
- Sandy Alcantara (51% rostered) - 6 IP, 1 ER, 3 H, 3 BB, 8 K, Win
- Yusei Kikuchi (7% rostered) - 6 IP, 1 ER, 2 H, 0 BB, 7 K, Win
