Welcome to the Roto Recap. For long-time readers, this is the new version of the Roto Report! I'm very excited to be doing this weekly now with a focus on the best-of-the-best and the worst-of-the-worst. I'll also throw in some advice on what to do with these breakouts and slumps. Let's take a look at the highlights from last week.

Hitters

Manny Machado - .538, 3 HR, 7 RBI, 8 R

Top honors of the week go to Manny Machado. He is hitting .309 on the year with 11 home runs, 29 RBI, 30 runs scored and three steals. If he ends the season strong, there's a case for him to be a second round pick in 2021.

Teoscar Hernandez - .348, 2 HR, 4 RBI, 6 R, 1 SB

Hernandez (80% rostered) needs to be owned and started everywhere. The often streaky hitter has been on point this year. He is hitting .306 with a 1.001 OPS. He has 12 home runs and five steals.

Here’s a quick look at the standouts from the weekend to scoop up off the waiver wire:

  • Jesse Winker (68% rostered) - .333, 4 HR, 7 RBI, 6 R
  • Andrew McCutchen (62% rostered) - .435, 2 HR, 6 RBI, 7 R, 2 SB
  • Christian Walker (54% rostered) - .364, 3 HR, 10 RBI, 5 R
  • Brandon Belt (28% rostered) - .429, 2 HR, 6 RBI, 3 R
  • Evan Longoria (15% rostered) - .435, 1 HR, 5 RBI, 7 R

Pitchers

Lucas Giolito - 9 IP, 0 ER, 0 H, 1 BB, 13 K, Win

Throw a no-hitter, good chance you'll be the top pitcher of the week. Back-to-back 13 K games from Giolito as well.

Corbin Burnes - 6 IP, 0 ER, 1 H, 1 BB, 10 K, Win

The Burnes breakout is here! Corbin Burnes (60% rostered) was stellar on Friday against the Pirates. The 25-year-old has a 12.8 K/9 over 32.1 innings. Don't let him go unowned in your league.

Sixto Sanchez - 7 IP, 0 ER, 6 H, 1 BB, 10 K

Sanchez (51% rostered) was awesome in a no-decision against the Rays. The rookie has shined over his first two MLB starts and needs to be rostered everywhere going forward. He has ace pitcher upside and will be a fun name to rank in 2021.

Here's a few more names to add after impressive outings:

  • Andrew Heaney (73% rostered) - 7.2 IP, 1 ER, 4 H, 2 BB, 10 K, Win
  • Pablo Lopez (1-1) (59% rostered) - 12 IP, 2 ER, 12 H, 2 BB, 8 K
  • Ian Anderson (53% rostered) - 6 IP, 1 ER, 1 H, 2 BB, 6 K, Win
  • Zach Eflin (16% rostered) - 7 IP, 1 ER, 4 H, 8 K, Win
  • Tyler Mahle (9% rostered) - 6.2 IP, 2 ER, 2 H, 2 BB, 11 K, Win
  • Josh Fleming (9% rostered) - 5.1 IP, 0 ER, 3 H, 6 K
  • Justin Dunn (6% rostered) - 6 IP, 0 ER, 1 H, 4 BB, 6 K
