Welcome to the Roto Recap. For long-time readers, this is the new version of the Roto Report! I'm very excited to be doing this weekly now with a focus on the best-of-the-best and the worst-of-the-worst. I'll also throw in some advice on what to do with these breakouts and slumps. Let's take a look at the highlights from last week.

Hitters

Jose Abreu - .533, 7 HR, 15 RBI, 9 R

Tim Anderson - .375, 4 HR, 7 RBI, 9 R, 2 SB

As I'm writing this the White Sox hit another home run!

Kyle Lewis - .522, 3 HR, 4 RBI, 11 R, 1 SB

Lewis (85% rostered) was slept on with all the hype around the Mariners outfielders (namely Jarred Kelenic). He has been nothing but awesome this season. He takes an eight-game hitting streak into Week 6.

Luke Voit - .500 , 5 HR, 8 RBI, 6 R

Voit (83% rostered) had another strong week and is now the second-best first baseman in fantasy this season behind only the red-hot Jose Abreu. Voit has 10 home runs on the year. The Yankees stud was drafted outside the top 200 in most drafts but is now clearly a top 10 first base option rest of season.

Here’s a quick look at the standouts from the weekend to scoop up off the waiver wire:

  • Hunter Dozier (69% rostered) - .350, 2 HR, 4 RBI, 7 R, 1 SB
  • Wilmer Flores (54% rostered) - .368, 3 HR, 10 RBI, 6 R
  • Austin Nola (49% rostered) - .345, 2 HR, 8 RBI, 7 R
  • Jake Cronenworth (40% rostered) - .423, 1 HR, 7 RBI, 6 R, 1 SB
  • Gregory Polanco (12% rostered) - .294, 2 HR, 5 RBI, 3 R, 2 SB

Pitchers

Yu Darvish (2-0) - 13 IP, 2 ER, 14 H, 2 BB, 17 K

Darvish had a solid week going 2-0 in his two starts against the Cardinals and White Sox. He now has five quality starts.

Zach Davies (2-0) - 13 IP, 5 ER, 7 H, 4 BB, 13 K

Davies (59% rostered) came through in his two-start week. He now sports a 3.03 ERA but has to travel to Colorado this week to face the Rockies in Coors Field.

Triston McKenzie - 6 IP, 1 ER, 2 H, 1 BB, 10 K, Win

Making his big league debut, McKenzie (46% rostered) was stellar against the Tigers. He garnered 17 swinging strikes on just 80 pitches in this outing. Drafted in the first round back in 2015, McKenzie has battled plenty of injuries while in the minors. As long as he's healthy and in the rotation, McKenzie is a must-own and must-start. Go get him!

Here's a few more names to add after impressive outings:

  • Dylan Cease (1-1) (52% rostered) - 12.1 IP, 4 ER, 9 H, 6 BB, 8 K
  • Luke Weaver (1-1) (49% rostered) - 10.2 IP, 3 ER, 8 H, 2 BB, 11 K
  • Marco Gonzales (47% rostered) - 7 IP, 1 ER, 5 H, 0 BB, 9 K
  • Taijuan Walker (12% rostered) - 7 IP, 3 ER, 4 H, 1 BB, 8 K, Win
  • Tyler Anderson (2-0) (3% rostered) - 14 IP, 5 ER, 11 H, 1 BB, 12 K
