As many have stated so far, this weekend’s FAAB run is going to be insane. Prospect-heavy, in fact. So we had this organic chat in our Fake Teams Slack chat where we ranked the top options for the weekend.
So here you go, in all its glory...our rankings for the hottest prospects of the weekend. Be sure to ask WHY all these other guys didn’t have Austin Riley No. 1 overall. Me, I can’t explain it...
Lastly, Willie Calhoun maaaaaybe doesn’t qualify as a prospect. But he is a young-ish guy who just got the call, who is probably in your free agent pool this weekend. So I included him. Go nuts!
(Mostly) Prospect Rankings
Player | RANK | AVG | Zack | Mark | Ghoji | Punk | Heath |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Player | RANK | AVG | Zack | Mark | Ghoji | Punk | Heath |
Keston Hiura | 1 | 1.6 | 1 | 3 | 1 | 1 | 2 |
Austin Riley | 2 | 2.0 | 3 | 1 | 3 | 2 | 1 |
Brendan Rodgers | 3 | 3.0 | 2 | 4 | 2 | 4 | 3 |
Willie Calhoun | 4 | 4.0 | 4 | 2 | 4 | 6 | 4 |
Nicky Lopez | 5 | 5.0 | 5 | 6 | 6 | 3 | 5 |
Oscar Mercado | 6 | 5.4 | 6 | 5 | 5 | 5 | 6 |
For what it’s worth, I feel like I am shortchanging Nicky Lopez. And I feel like Rodgers feels a bit obligatory, given the Coors effect. But he’s also risky due to Colorado’s history of finding reasons not to play their best guys. A big dice roll, in my opinion. Calhoun may not be assured of at-bats everyday in Texas, but I wonder if the playing time breakdown between those two will be really close.
What say you all? How did we do? What percentage of your budget are you dropping on these guys this week?
