The trade this weekend between the Diamondbacks and Brewers which sent LHS Doug Davis, LHS Dana Eveland and AAAA Dave Krynzel to the desert for C Johnny Estrada (not "Jhonny" or "Jonny" just "Johnny"), RHS Claudio Vargas and RHL Greg Aquino has one major fantasy implication.
That is the potential to turn D'backs catcher Miguel Montero into a fine $1/late round contributor. With the DBacks' intention to split time betwen him and 2005 sleeper Chris Snyder, I see any chance of wildly optimistic roto-commentary forcing him into much higher valuations being lessened.
Montero has had consecutive 17+ HR seasons, and his walk rate really jumped in 2006 with an attendent drop in strikout rate.
I wouldn't project a great AVG, but for $1, .260 with 10-15 HRs is all I exepct. What would you look for?
