The Fake Teams Crew

Fake Teams is the fantasy sports site of SBNation, Inc. It began in February 2006 with Matt Watson of Rototimes manning all the editorial and content duties.

In June 2006, Mr. Watson handed off those duties to the current Managing Editor, Eric Hinz, who came to the attention of Mr. Watson via a post about John Rodriguez in the summer of 2005 in Mr. Hinz's original fantasy baseball blog, rotisserie baseball musings.

Eric Hinz has been blogging for several years and began when he thought it would be a good way to hone his writing skills in preparation of a career in financial analysis as he rode out the bursting of the stock bubble in the early 21st century. That career did not quite materialize, but Mr. Hinz remained in the financial industry and was amongst the first financial professionals to be awarded the Certificate in Investment Performance Measurement by the organization formerly known as AIMR. He also has an MBA in finance from Fordham University to go along with an BA in psychology from the University of Connecticut and a year's worth of graduate study in Community Psychology. Mr. Hinz is married with children (3) in Westchester County, NY. While sitting through numerous academic classes, he has managed to play fantasy sports for the past 14 years.

Mark Rieker ("Skeller"), senior football writer, has been playing online fantasy sports starting with the Prodigy Network and a 4800 baud modem in 1994. He was the Lead Fantasy Football Writer for LeaderboardSports.com and has written about fantasy football for CSTV.com. He has also appeared on ESPNews for their 2005 Fantasy Experts Draft. For the past eleven years he has been the Commissioner of the Hanscom Fantasy Football League, a league of current and former Air Force servicemen that have played across 16 states and six foreign countries. Mark is married with two children and lives outside London, England.

Dave Fuller is the lead fantasy basketball writer for Fake Teams, but his proudest fantasy sports accomplishment was a Triple Crown (Championship title in a Yahoo! Private, Winners, and Public League) during the 2007 fantasy baseball season. Dave currently attends the University of Connecticut intending to major in Accounting. He plans on acquiring his CPA after graduating, but until then, he enjoys being a fantasy sports writer. Prior to joining the FT team, he wrote a weekly fantasy football column SportsOutlaw.com, as well being the Managing Editor for small fantasy sports site ThirdLeague.com (which never really got off the ground and is now a dead project.) Dave currently resides in Manchester, CT. He is not married, but plans on marrying his high school sweetheart in the future.

The team at Fake Teams is available for all media formats to discuss fantasy sports. Please contact Mr. Hinz to work out the details.
