Fantasy Impact
Posey fell just inside our top 20 catchers for this year so he’s not blowing up rosters with his choice to sit out, but it’s still not great for fantasy. Tyler Heineman and Rob Brantly are both on the roster so we’ll see which of them likely will get the starting gig. Giants president Farhan Zaidi remarked on Friday (July 10th) that stud prospect Joey Bart “has some development left.” So it appears we’ll have to pump the brakes on Bart immediately seizing the full-time role in San Francisco.
