Colorado Rockies outfielder Ian Desmond opted out of the 2020 MLB season Monday night.
Fantasy Impact
To start, I highly suggest reading Desmond’s statement in its entirety as he brings up a lot of really strong talking points. From a fantasy standpoint, with Desmond out and Charlie Blackmon recovering from COVID-19, the Rockies outfield is a bit in flux to start the shortened 60-game season. I would expect we’ll see more of Raimel Tapia and Sam Hilliard this year. Desmond joins Diamondbacks pitcher Mike Leake and Nationals players Ryan Zimmerman and Joe Ross as players who’ve announced they will not play in 2020.
