Dynasty trade help

I'm looking to move Chase Utley in 5 * 5(with OPS and Quality starts instead of AVG and wins) H2h league. This guy says he's very interested, i'm wondering what i should ask for and what i should realistically expect. My needs are starting pitching and outfielders

These are the players he has that i'm intersted in

Matt Cain

Brett Cecil

Ubaldo Jimenez

Yovani Gallardo

Drew Stubbs

Josh Hamilton

Alex Rios

or Ubaldo. Both are solid returns for Utley who will probably have the knee issue all year. He had the knee problem last year as well.

If he won’t bite I’d ask for Gallardo and a flier player. If he has any prospects you like toss them in a see what he says. Last year I had a trade I was happy with but I decided to tell the other owner I would agree to the trade only if he threw in Dan Hudson and he said yes. Hudson was traded to the Diamondbacks a couple weeks later and we all know how that went. Now I have him for the next 2 years for peanuts and a first round pick for the final 3 months of Ubaldo’s contract. I traded Ubaldo the week before his first loss so the timing was pretty sweet as Hudson outperformed Ubaldo and now I have a chance to get Ubaldo back with the draft pick. Never be afraid to ask for too much.

this is 16 team league with deep reserves and minors BTW, i don’t know how much of a difference that makes. Should i go for quanitity instead of quality and ask for Gallardo and Stubbs or Rios and Cain?

I doubt

you could get Gallardo and Stubbs for Utley but if you think you can by all means go for it. It would be nice to get a SP and OF for Utley and fill two holes but you want to make sure you get the best player you can.

I say list the players in the order you like them most. Then pick who you want most and add a prospect with upside and see what they say. If they say no, knock of the prospect and then see. If they still say no then go to the #2 guy on your list and add a prospect and repeat until you break them down and get top dollar for utley. As you guys offer and counter offer you should get a good idea about how much they want Utley.

i took you guys’ advice and started asked for a good return. I offered Utley and Adam LaRoche for Ubaldo and Drew Stubbs. Lets see what he counters with.

didn't work out

he initially said he’d think about Ubaldo and Stubbs, after a few hours he said he’s gonna stand pat. I then offered Gallardo and Stubbs and he said he’s too concerned about Utley’s injuries, it was right about the time that report of Utley’s injury being much more serious than reported came out.

I’m gonna hang on to Chase and pray he has April and May so i can dump him the first chance i get
