Baseball parks play a fun factor into the dynamic of fantasy baseball. Curious on how that factor could play into the schedule for this year, I took the rate of runs scored while away vs. home in each ball park (and then gave them a ranking from 1-30) and then cross referenced that with the upcoming schedule that each team has (knowing that half their games will be home and thus weighing the balance for teams on the ends of the spectrum like Colorado vs. Oakland) to come up with a ranking by month for each teams schedule this year. As you can see, I will be avoiding Cubs, Astros and Athletics from this context.
**Please note that Toronto is assumed to be under their normal stadium Rogers Centre in this analysis for the whole season (when obviously they will be out for at least the first dozen or so games playing in Florida) so take their amazing looking schedule with a grain of salt.**
As you can imagine there is much more than this that go into a given players success but hopefully this gives some evidence for why...
- Milwaukee struggles out of the gate and then improves while
- The Diamondbacks mysteriously struggle in July
- The Rangers start strong then progressively get worse
- The Mets pop in July
