It looks like a tricky week at fantasy football’s thinnest position...but what else is new?
Hunter Henry (2-25) and Kyle Pitts (3-29) turned in duds on Thursday night, and that’s a week after Mike Gesicki was shut out on TNF—a good reminder to be leery of those silly games in general moving forward.
Rob Gronkowski’s probable return this week is significant, but hopefully you can back him up with OJ Howard or Cameron Brate in the event that Gronk doesn’t play. If not, relying on Gronk in the Monday night game seems really tricky.
Other news and notes are below, but from my point of view you’ll need to make decisions about TJ Hockenson and Zach Ertz, as they’ll be receiving passes from Tim Boyle and Colt McCoy, respectively. I’ve dented each in my rankings as a result, but odds are you’re rolling with them in most leagues given the dearth of talent at the position.

TE Rankings for Week 11
Rank | Player Name | Team | Opponent | Notes |
---|---|---|---|---|
Rank | Player Name | Team | Opponent | Notes |
1 | Travis Kelce | KC | vs DAL | A projected total of 56 points between these two offenses is salivating. |
2 | George Kittle | SF | @ JAC | He's scored in back-to-back games since returning from IR. Kittle is back, with his only downside being the low-yield passing attack of SF. |
3 | Darren Waller | LV | vs CIN | He's been a letdown overall, but 11 targets a week ago gives you an idea of the upside. |
4 | Mark Andrews | BAL | @ CHI | Not a great matchup numbers-wise, but Andrews has a great floor. |
5 | Dalton Schultz | DAL | @ KC | Blake Jarwin and Amari Cooper are out, and a shootout is on tap. Yes please! |
6 | Mike Gesicki | MIA | @ NYJ | He posted a bagel last week, but Tua's return should be a boost, as should the absences of Fuller and Parker. |
7 | Dallas Goedert | PHI | vs NO | He's cleared concussion protocol and will start. |
8 | Pat Freiermuth | PIT | @ LAC | Big Ben's return should help, believe it or not. |
9 | TJ Hockenson | DET | @ CLE | Tim Boyle is under center for Detroit, so you have to temper expectations. |
10 | Dan Arnold | JAC | vs SF | 10, 7, and 8 are his target counts over the last three weeks. Lock him in. |
11 | Dawson Knox | BUF | vs IND | He only had one target last week but the Bills routed the Jets and didn't need to throw much. |
12 | Tyler Conklin | MIN | vs GB | Typically he doesn't score but can offer a 5-50 sort of line. |
13 | Zach Ertz | ARI | @ SEA | Colt McCoy is likely to play today, so you've got to dent Ertz. |
14 | Cole Kmet | CHI | vs BAL | This is a prime matchup despite Gesicki getting shut out last week. Kmet is still searching for his first score, but his targets are rising (6, 6, 8 over his last three games). |
15 | Evan Engram | NYG | @ TB | He has a score in back-to-back weeks. |
16 | Adam Trautman | NO | @ PHI | He's got target counts of 6, 7, 6 over the last three weeks and appears to be emerging with Siemian under center. Quality mid-range TE2 in PPR formats. |
17 | Rob Gronkowski | TB | vs NYG | He practiced in full on Thursday of this week, but his attempted return in Week 8 only lasted six snaps, so you have to be wary. |
18 | Gerald Everett | SEA | vs ARI | He missed some practice with a groin injury but avoided having an injury designation--he caught all eight passes thrown his way last week. |
19 | CJ Uzomah | CIN | @ LV | He's a boom or bust type given his low to moderate volume. |
20 | Austin Hooper | CLE | vs DET | The Lions are actually #good at defending tight ends. |
21 | David Njoku | CLE | vs DET | See above, and he more volatile than Hooper--but more upside if he can make a splash play or two. |
22 | Jared Cook | LAC | vs PIT | 5, 4, and 3 targets over his last three weeks and Donald Parham Jr. keeps siphoning away production. Hard pass. |
23 | John Bates | WAS | @ CAR | The fourth round rookie will get some looks, as Logan Thomas and RSJ are still shelved. |
24 | Anthony Firkser | TEN | vs HOU | He hasn't been a factor this year, but fellow TE Geoff Swaim is out so there's some dart throw appeal here. |
25 | Donald Parham Jr. | LAC | vs PIT | Like with David Njoku, you're hoping for a long gain or two if you take him. |
26 | Jack Doyle | IND | @ BUF | He sees a tad more volume than Alie-Cox but typically won't score. |
27 | OJ Howard | TB | vs NYG | Only if Gronk is ruled out. |
28 | Ryan Griffin | NYJ | vs MIA | We got all excited after seven targets (4-28-1) in Week 9, but Griffin reverted back to a measly two looks in Week 10. |
29 | Mo Alie-Cox | IND | @ BUF | He's never seen volume and now he's not scoring touchdowns. Hard pass. |
30 | Cameron Brate | TB | vs NYG | Only if Gronk is ruled out. |
