The Favorites

Joey Logano (third selection this year) — The last three years he went from 24th to 16th to 6th here. He now has top seven finishes in three of the last five races including a 6th place finish at Darlington.

Martin Truex Jr (third selection this year) — He led for a stint at Darlington and he has two wins here in the last four years.

High Risk/High Reward

Matt Kenseth (first selection this year) — Two races in and I’m fully impressed, he has not lost a step despite losing a year of racing. He has been a top 10 racer two of the last three years he raced here.

Jimmie Johnson (first selection this year) — He has four wins here, and he’s been in the top 12 each of the last 4 years here. He finished 8th at Darlington.

The Dark Horse

Clint Bowyer (first selection this year) — Clint looked amazing last week leading in more laps in one race at Darlington than he had led in the last 13 years combined. and I’m willing to gamble on that continued success up until the spin out.

Fun Fact: Jeff Gordon had his first win at this race in 1994 as did Matt Kenseth in 2000.
