Seattle at Chicago 8:15 p.m.
The Seahwaks must be counting the minutes until Shaun Alexander returns. His replacement, Maurice Morris, was only capable of gaining 35 yards on 11 carries. In his defnse, the Seahawks only ran 18 times and were playing catch-up for most of the game.
As one would expect when one sees a team lose 37-6, the Fantastic Four Receiving Core of Darrell Jackson, Babby Engram, Nate Burleson and Deoin Branch couldn't alleviate any of the pressure on the running game. DJax lead the team with 5 receptions and 62 yards followed by Branch's 3/57.
QB Rex Grossman threw for a season-low 232 yards but did toss two TDs including a 40-yarder to Bomb Berrian.
In a game were Cedric benson got 11 carries, starting RB Thomas Jones ran 24 times for 98 yards and two TDs. What? No 100 yards rushing?
The Packers one-game winning streak ended in a 31-9 loss in a game where RB Ahman Green was inactive due to injury. His replacement, former Texans RB Vernand Morency, filled in admirably with 99 yards rushing on 26 carries and 6 recpetions.
How a back gets 26 carries and his team gets blown out is a hard question to answer.
Rookie WR Greg Jennings had five receptions for 86 yards and should be considered the co-#1 with Donald Driver going forward.
RB Brian Westbrook did not play. I was right to ask whether or not his game against the 49ers was a fluke and if with his ranking as one of the best RBs based on that fluke is a fair assessment.
QB Donovan McNabb made WR Greg Lewis his Stud Receiver of the Week with two TD passes of 45 and 30 yards.
While having four different receivers put up great weeks is tough on fantasy players, having McNabb is not. I do not know the up-to-the-minute 2006 rankings, but I'd be very surrpised if McNabb was at the top.
