The Boston Red Sox are trading Andrew Benintendi to the Kansas City Royals in a three-team trade with the New York Mets.
The three-way trade is done, sources tell ESPN.

Royals get: OF Andrew Benintendi
Mets get: OF Khalil Lee
Red Sox get: OF Franchy Cordero, RHP Josh Winckowski, two PTBNLs from Kansas City, one PTBNL from New York
Fantasy Impact
I mostly agree with this measured take:
An optimist's look at this trade for all the teams:

Royals: Benintendi was a 5-win player two years ago and is only 26.
Mets: Lee is a near-ML-ready OF and is just 22.
Red Sox: Franchy is toolsy as hell, and the three PTBNLs will add to a shallow farm system that needs depth.
People can still be sensible on the internets. However, big picture I’m pretty incensed if I am a Red Sox fan. They continue to trade away big names and seem like a really stingy bunch right now.
As for the Royals, I really call this an upgrade. No offense to Franchy Cordero, but staying healthy is a bit of a skill, and Kansas City gets a clear MLB-ready player in Beni who has shown flashes in the past and is an upgrade for right now. The Kansas City lineup is very quietly one with some length...I really like this move. As for fantasy baseball, Beni’s ADP over the last couple of weeks is around 240...just after part-timer Jurickson Profar. I wouldn’t take him over Raimel Tapia (ADP 242) but I would rather have Beni over some of the outfield slog that is all around him. Are we really still drafting Lorenzo Cain, for instance?
Classic change of scenery that should pay off for Beni. I’ll have some shares in 2021.
