This week was epic for the world of sports. We saw a great marriage of dynasty’s mixed with some fresh faces gathering a win. A Triple Crown winner, the French Open, a big Warriors win, Washington gets it’s first win in 26 years, MLB stars are emerging from the rest of the pack and

• Justify beat out 20-1 odds Gronkowski by 1.75 lengths to win the Triple Crown

• Sell out crowd of 90,000 watched as Vino Rosso, Gronkowsi and Hofburg made pushes to usurp Justify.

French Open – Nadal takes his 11th , Halep takes her first

• Rafael Nadal beat (#7 ranked) Dominic Thiem in 3 straight sets to win the French Open.

• Grand Slam leaders currently: Roger Federer (20), Rafael Nadal (17), Pete Sampras (14).

• Simona Halep rallied to win her first Major victory beating Sloane Stephens 3-6, 6-4, 6-1.

• Four of the last five grand slams have featured first time winners: Jalena Ostapenko (French Open 2017), Sloan Stephens (US Open 2017), Caroline Wozniacki (Australian 2018) and Simona Halep.

NBA – The Finals: Golden State wins their third Championship in 4 years.

· The Golden State Warriors swept the Cleveland Cavaliers in 4 games. Kevin Durant took MVP (his 2nd in two years).

· LeBron apparently broke his hand in game one punching a black board and of course now ‘LeBron Watch’ begins as media outlets are obsessed with this until a decision is made.

NHLStanley Cup Finals: Washington Capitals win their first championship in the franchises 44 years.

· Alex Ovechkin won the Conn Smythe as Playoff MVP as the Capitals win the Stanley Cup

· Alex has proceeded to party among the best of them with the Cup (look out Gronk).

• Rain delays caused the Michigan race to start late. Ryan Blaney won the first stage and Kevin Harvick won the second stage; however, with 67 laps remaining the race was called with Clint Bowyer in the lead at that time.
