French Open – Nadal takes his 11^th , Halep takes her first

• Rafael Nadal beat (#7 ranked) Dominic Thiem in 3 straight sets to win the French Open.

• Grand Slam leaders currently: Roger Federer (20), Rafael Nadal (17), Pete Sampras (14).

• Simona Halep rallied to win her first Major victory beating Sloane Stephens 3-6, 6-4, 6-1.

• Four of the last five grand slams have featured first time winners: Jalena Ostapenko (French Open 2017), Sloan Stephens (US Open 2017), Caroline Wozniacki (Australian 2018) and Simona Halep.

NBA – The Finals: Golden State wins their third Championship in 4 years.

· The Golden State Warriors swept the Cleveland Cavaliers in 4 games. Kevin Durant took MVP (his 2^nd in two years).

· LeBron apparently broke his hand in game one punching a black board and of course now ‘LeBron Watch’ begins as media outlets are obsessed with this until a decision is made.

NHL – Stanley Cup Finals: Washington Capitals win their first championship in the franchises 44 years.

· Alex Ovechkin won the Conn Smythe as Playoff MVP as the Capitals win the Stanley Cup

· Alex has proceeded to party among the best of them with the Cup (look out Gronk).

MLB – around 36% into the regular season

• Willy Adames to be called up soon?

• Paul Goldschmidt is heating up (14 runs, 15 RBI’s, .467 Avg, .538 OBP and 1.044 SLG over his last 2 weeks).

• Alen Hanson is the 23^rd best hitter over the last 7 days despite only making two starts (the Giants had him pinch hit in every other game and he had a hit in run in four of those six games). He’s 9% owned, if they gave him some legit playing time, just sayin’.

PGA – FedEx St. Jude Classic (soon to be the Invitational next year)

• Dustin Johnson takes his second win of the 2018 season with a six stroke win over Andrew Putnam (oh and he did it with an eagle on the last hole).

NASCAR Clint Bowyer wins his 10^th career victory at the Firekeepers Casino 400

• Rain delays caused the Michigan race to start late. Ryan Blaney won the first stage and Kevin Harvick won the second stage; however, with 67 laps remaining the race was called with Clint Bowyer in the lead at that time.
