2021 Fantasy Football Rankings: Quarterbacks for Week 2

Heath ranks the signal-callers for Week 2.

It appears the Shane Waldron offense is going to suit Russell Wilson just fine. And this is a rare week where Patrick Mahomes ISN’T the overall QB1 option. Do you agree or disagree? And does it even matter? If there’s a league where you have Mahomes and Kyler Murray at your disposal and can only start one of them, you did something wrong in your draft...

1 Kyler Murray ARI vs MIN He's got a shot to be the top option after last week's explosion (289 PaYd, 4 TDs). MIN allowed a pair of scores to Joe Burrow last week.
2 Patrick Mahomes KC @ BAL Still an elite option.
3 Lamar Jackson BAL vs KC Only managed one passing score and lost two fumbles last week, but should need to air it out plenty to keep up with KC.
4 Russell Wilson SEA vs TEN This is a great matchup, a defense that Kyler Murray torched for four passing scores in Week 1. Wilson tossed 4 scores in Week 1 vs. IND
5 Josh Allen BUF @ MIA He isn't out of the circle of trust, but another poor start is going to raise eyebrows. Right now I'm tipping my cap to PIT and trusting Allen as a top five option for Week 2.
6 Tom Brady TB vs ATL The only reason he won't go bonkers is if TB is comfortably winning early. Brady shredded ATL twice last year, and the Falcons just got beaten soundly by Philly.
7 Dak Prescott DAL vs LAC Last week's stats look pretty darn healthy. He's in the circle of trust.
8 Justin Herbert LAC vs DAL After a tough defense in Week 1, he moves back up the ranks given the shootout potential with DAL.
9 Aaron Rodgers GB vs DET Expect A-Rod to rebound after a poor Week 1 showing.
10 Matthew Stafford LAR @ IND He's a legitimate top-12 guy all year, Week 1 just confirmed it.
11 Jalen Hurts PHI vs SF He decimated ATL last week, but this is a rough matchup. Best viewed as a low-end QB1.
12 Ryan Tannehill TEN vs SEA Maybe TEN is still figuring things out with a new OC and some new offensive personnel.
13 Baker Mayfield CLE vs HOU He's a high-upside QB2 play against this defense.
14 Joe Burrow CIN @ CHI The Bears look beatable in the secondary, but can he take advantage? He wasn't asked to throw much in the 4Q last week and looked to be experiencing some shoulder pain.
15 Jameis Winston NO @ CAR After 5 scores last week, he's at least earned some leash as a sturdy QB2 with upside.
16 Kirk Cousins MIN vs ARI Chandler Jones was after Tannehill (a much better runner than Kirk) all day in Week 1. Tread lightly.
17 Trevor Lawrence JAC vs DEN He had a good matchup against HOU last week, but against DEN you have to downgrade him.
18 Sam Darnold CAR vs NO It was a good start against the Jets last week, but NO is a different animal.
19 Teddy Bridgewater DEN vs JAC In the circle of trust as a QB2 given the cheese matchup. Sutton and Fant are enough to play with even while Jeudy is out.
20 Jimmy Garoppolo SF vs PHI Philly held ATL to six points in Week 1, but San Fran is a different animal...
21 Derek Carr LV vs PIT PIT put the clamps on Josh Allen last week...
22 Matt Ryan ATL vs TB He's a heavy fade this week after an awful performance vs. Philly.
23 Mac Jones NE @ NYJ It's an easier matchup and his first NFL start is behind him. Arrow pointing upward.
24 Carson Wentz IND vs LAR The good news is he looked healthy, the bad news is he was hit a lot by Seattle--and the Rams defense is better.
25 Taylor Heinicke WAS vs NYG He can run the ball...that's at least worth QB2 consideration.
26 Tua Tagovailoa MIA vs BUF Another tough matchup. Tua will make his way into the QB2 convo this year, but not for this week.
27 Zach Wilson NYJ vs NE He looked solid in his debut, but CAR was chasing after him all day. NE is a tough matchup.
28 Daniel Jones NYG vs WAS This is a really tough matchup.
29 Ben Roethlisberger PIT vs OAK He's a boring, low floor option at this juncture given that he's no longer pushing the ball down the field.
30 Tyrod Taylor HOU @ CLE This should be a tougher test than JAC last week.
31 Jared Goff DET @ GB He went nuts in garbage time last week against San Fran.
32 Andy Dalton CHI vs CIN He struggled predicably against LAR last week.
