2021 Fantasy Football Rankings: Top 32 Tight Ends

“Heath ranks the safety blankets” is a familiar refrain here at Fake Teams. Though it’s true I’ve devoted most of my energy to baseball—especially in recent years—I’ve always chipped in during positional weeks with tight end coverage and ranked tight ends weekly.

So while being ranked 76th overall in FantasyPros’ multi-year draft accuracy is kind of a bummer, being ranked 14th overall (out of over 100 experts) with regard to tight ends specifically is encouraging. This is the position I’ve zeroed in on over the years, and it’s my best by far. For reference, I’m 77th for QBs, 79th in RBs, and 81st in WRs. Pretty consistently bottom awful, eh? Apparently it takes time to be good at this fake game, especially alongside a bunch of sharps.

All this tells me is that I need to devote more time to other positions entering 2021. But it also means I’m tackling tight ends before I jump into the other skill positions, since it’s my favorite...

What follows is my first pass. I’m going to like Bob Tonyan a bit better than the consensus I think. And I’m liking Jonnu Smith better than the group, too—I’m thankful for Hunter Henry’s presence in New England that will suppress Jonnu’s value.
