Right-hander Chris Archer and the Tampa Bay Rays are in agreement on a one-year, $6.5 million deal, pending physical, sources tell ESPN.— Jeff Passan (@JeffPassan) February 2, 2021
Archer, 32, returns to the organization where he debuted and found his greatest success.
Archer struggled last year with the Pirates, finishing with a 5.19 ERA and 3-9 record. However his K/9 was still above 10 and now he returns to the organization where he experienced most of his success. Archer paired with Tyler Glasnow makes a strong duo in the Rays pitching staff.
