I’ll be honest, what follows is a mess. Between the normal wear and tear we’d see having an impact on player health and the pillaging annoyance that is Covid-19...I don’t know who you can really trust this week. Let’s just pray to the fantasy football spirits that everyone remains healthy and that we don’t get anymore inactives by Sunday.
As for this week’s gunslingers, I think it really tails off after the top 14. At that point, I think you can start to make whatever case you’d like. If Lamar Jackson suits up, I think he at least moves to QB15 for me. I’d not take a shot on the aged arm of Big Ben in a pivotal Week 15 if my stud QB was actually playing.
And for the rest, check the notes below. Chime in with a comment if you’ve got the magic 8-ball for this week. It’s going to be a doozy...
QB Rankings for Week 15
Rank | Player Name | Team | Opponent | Notes |
---|---|---|---|---|
Rank | Player Name | Team | Opponent | Notes |
| Kyler Murray | ARZ | @ DET | Deandre Hopkins (knee) is out for the rest of the season, but he still has a full stable of weapons to take advantage of this soft matchup. |
| Josh Allen | BUF | vs CAR | He was nursing an ankle injury, but is off the injury report. The inept CAR offense should make this is a lopsided affair. |
| Tom Brady | TB | vs NO | He was the overall QB2 in each of the last two weeks, against ATL and even BUF. The middling NO defense shouldn't pose a threat. |
| Aaron Rodgers | GB | @ BAL | His finishes since Week 11: QB2, QB2, BYE, QB3. The Ravens' 3.9 Y/A allowed on the ground is third-best...but they can be had via the air. |
| Matthew Stafford | LAR | vs SEA | He hasn't finished worse than QB7 in any of his last three. The Seahawks are sixth-worst with 6.7 NY/A allowed this year. |
| Dak Prescott | DAL | @ NYG | He's in a great matchup, but he just hasn't offered the same certainty as Stafford. |
| Jalen Hurts | PHI | vs WAS | This game will be played Tuesday, giving WAS a chance to get healthier on defense. |
| Taysom Hill | NO | @ TB | He's a solid streamer, but for my $$$ I'd rather give Hurts' longer track record the nod. |
| Kirk Cousins | MIN | @ CHI | Adam Thielen is still a question mark, but he still has enough weapons to do damage against the reeling Bears. |
| Tua Tagovailoa | MIA | vs NYJ | Jaylen Waddle is out (Covid protocols) but this is a swiss cheese matchup for Tua. |
| Jimmy Garoppolo | SF | vs ATL | I can justify him as a top 12 play given the matchup and his consistency. |
| Russell Wilson | SEA | @ LAR | He has three straight top 15 finishes and is looking more comfortable. This is not a good matchup for him, though. |
| Justin Fields | CHI | vs MIN | Big Ben exposed the MIN defense for 300+ and three scores...Fields looked solid last week and adds the rushing upside. |
| Joe Burrow | CIN | @ DEN | He's struggling through a finger injury but is good to go against a tough Denver defense. |
| Ben Roethlisberger | PIT | vs TEN | He's coming off of a great start and the Titans are a middling defense. I think he'll be chasing, too. Sue me. Titans keep finding a way. |
| Derek Carr | LV | @ CLE | Carr and the Raiders need Darren Waller back, but he's still sidelined. CLE is still favored with Nick Mullens in at QB... |
| Ryan Tannehill | TEN | @ PIT | I think the Titans find a way, but it won't be pretty. |
| Mac Jones | NE | @ IND | If you're banking on him, you're hoping the Indy defense (26 passing TDs allowed) is generous. |
| Lamar Jackson | BAL | vs GB | He hasn't missed a game due to an injury in his entire career, but since it's an ankle and he missed practice all week, we have to downgrade (and stay tuned). |
| Teddy Bridgewater | DEN | vs CIN | It's a tough matchup. I'd give the nod to Lamar if he goes. |
| Carson Wentz | IND | vs NE | Another tough matchup. Not enthused for this one. Get ready for Jonathan Taylor... |
| Nick Mullens | CLE | vs LV | Baker Mayfield and Case Keenum are on the Covid-19 list, so Mullens gets the start. The Browns are still favored. |
| Matt Ryan | ATL | @ SF | Tough road matchup. Look elsewhere. |
| Cam Newton | CAR | @ BUF | Tough road matchup and he's been poor through the air, while BUF is one of the most stout pass defenses. |
| Davis Mills | HOU | @ JAX | He did manage 331 yards and a passing score last week. That's something. |
| Zach Wilson | NYJ | @ MIA | He gets RB Michael Carter back, so that's something. |
| Trevor Lawrence | JAC | vs HOU | If you've had to rely on Lawrence all year, you know better than to get excited. Advantage, Houston. |
| Taylor Heinicke | WAS | @ PHI | I honestly have no idea what will happen with the WAS quarterback room. |
| Mike Glennon | NYG | vs DAL | He could garbage time his way to production, like last week. |
| Jared Goff | DET | vs ARI | One of the toughest matchups he'll face and it's possible DET are down their top two RBs as well as stud tight end Hockenson. |
| Tyler Huntley | BAL | vs GB | He's a mid-range QB2 in my book if Lamar doesn't go. A priority stash given this week's uncertainty. |
| Kyle Allen/Garrett Gilbert | WAS | @ PHI | Keep your eye on WAS quarterbacks if you're desperate for a superflex option. |
| Jake Fromm | NYG | vs DAL | He could see action due to a Glennon injury, or ineptitude. |
| PJ Walker | CAR | @ BUF | He could see action due to Cam's struggles, but it would be against the vaunted BUF defense on the road. |
