The Carolina Panthers (4-5) aren’t out of contention just yet, and with Sam Darnold (shoulder) out for at least four weeks the Panthers are bringing a familiar face home:
Big-time reunion: The #Panthers are signing former franchise QB Cam Newton after the meeting with Carolina brass today. Thanks to the Sam Darnold injury, Cam is back with the #Panthers.

Newton, of course, once carried Carolina to a Super Bowl appearance. However, 2020 wasn’t a banner season, with Newton tossing 10 picks against only eight touchdown passes. How much missed time due to Covid-19 affected him, perhaps his new time in Carolina will tell.
PJ Walker had been announced as Carolina’s starter for this weekend, but we’ll have to wait and see if Cam’s return changes that. Sure, in your quarterback-needy leagues, Newton is worth the add to see if he can recapture any sort of magic.
If you’re making the add, who are you dropping? Let’s hear it! I dropped Mike White for him...
