It’s time we have a serious discussion. We need to admit to ourselves that Stefon Diggs is no longer an irrefutable WR1 in fantasy football like he was a season ago. While Diggs is a talented wide receiver still, he’s not seeing the gargantuan target share he garnered in 2020. After seeing a massive 29.1% target share in 2020 (3rd in the NFL), Diggs has received a 23.9% target share (21st in the NFL) through the first nine weeks. Defenses are preventing Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills from torturing them with deep passes, resulting in shorter attempts.
Just for the sake of mentioning it, Stefon also has just one more touchdown (3) than his brother Trevon Diggs, who plays cornerback for the Dallas Cowboys. With me putting this all out in the open, it’s only fitting that Diggs would finish as the highest-scoring wide receiver in Week 10. Following that small rant about Diggs, let’s dive into the rest of my wide receiver rankings for the upcoming week of action in the NFL.
WR Rankings Week 10
RANK | NAME | TEAM | OPPONENT | NOTES |
---|---|---|---|---|
RANK | NAME | TEAM | OPPONENT | NOTES |
| Cooper Kupp | LAR | @ SF | Was unable to score in Week 9 but Kupp still caught 11 passes for 95 yards on 13 targets. Regardless of matchup, Kupp is locked in as WR1 with Stafford at QB. |
| Davante Adams | GB | vs. SEA | The anticipated return of Rodgers should aid Adams in being a WR1 again in Week 10 against a SEA defense that owns the 24th ranked pass DVOA. |
| Tyreek Hill | KC | @ LV | Chiefs continue to lean on Tyreek Hill even though teams are limiting the splash play for KC. Hill has seen 11+ targets in 5 out of his last six games. |
| Chris Godwin | TB | @ WAS | TB comes out of their bye week and have a favorable matchup against WAS. Godwin has caught 16 passes for 251 yards and 2 TDs in the past two games without Brown. |
| A.J. Brown | TEN | vs. NO | With Henry out for TEN, Brown should see an increased workload. Brown has the highest target share among WRs in the past four weeks (36.4%). |
| Mike Evans | TB | @ WAS | Without Brown, targets are being funneled to Godwin/Evans. Evans has 4 TDs in his last two outings. |
| CeeDee Lamb | DAL | vs. ATL | DAL is in a prime spot to bounce back against ATL. Lamb faces a defense that has given up 11 receiving TDs to WRs this season (tied for 6th most). |
| D.K. Metcalf | SEA | @ GB | Wilson should be back for SEA, giving a major boost to Metcalf/Lockett. Metcalf should have success against Jaire Alexander-less Packers. |
| Michael Pittman Jr. | IND | vs. JAC | Pittman is begining to see an uptick in usage for IND. The 2nd year WR is WR3 since Week 6, only behind Kupp and A.J. Brown. |
| Justin Jefferson | MIN | @ LAC | Jefferson has gotten only 9 targets in the past two weeks. MIN should look to get him more involved against a LAC defense that struggled to slow down DeVonta Smith in Week 9. |
| Stefon Diggs | BUF | @ NYJ | It is officially time for us to accept that Diggs is no longer a top 10 option in fantasy football every single week. Does have a favorable matchup against the NYJ, who have allowed the 6th most points per game to WRs in the last month. |
| Diontae Johnson | PIT | vs. DET | Johnson has 2nd highest target share since Week 6 (32%) and Claypool could be sidelined for PIT. Also gets a nice matchup against DET at home. |
| Terry McLaurin | WAS | vs. TB | WAS will be playing from behind against a pass-funneling defense in TB. McLaurin is the only viable wideout in WAS right now. |
| Deebo Samuel | SF | vs. LAR | Samuel has the 2nd highest target share on the season (34.5%) and should be busy again against the LAR. |
| Marquise Brown | BAL | @ MIA | Brown is seeing 10.3 targets per game in the past four weeks and BAL is trusting Lamar to throw more. |
| Keenan Allen | LAC | vs. MIN | The LAC have gotten Allen more involved in recent weeks, feeding him 24 targets in their last two games. |
| Amari Cooper | DAL | vs. ATL | Cooper and DAL are poised to get back on track versus ATL, even with the expected return of Gallup. |
| Tyler Lockett | SEA | @ GB | If Wilson does return for SEA, then Lockett is a 'lock' to be a top 20-25 option at WR this week. |
| Robert Woods | LAR | @ SF | Woods has quietly been WR6 since Week 4, proving that being the No. 2 WR on the LAR makes him a must-start option. |
| DeAndre Hopkins | ARI | vs. CAR | It remains to be seen if Hopkins/Murray return for ARI in Week 10. Even if Hopkins returns, he could be limited or catching passes from Colt McCoy. |
| Cordarrelle Patterson | ATL | @ DAL | Should continue seeing a sizable workload with Ridley sidelined. Patterson had team-high 126 receiving yards in Week 9. |
| Mike Williams | LAC | vs. MIN | One of these weeks, Williams is going to go back to making big plays for the LAC. MIN's defense has surrendered the 2nd most points per game to WRs in the past four weeks. |
| Adam Thielen | MIN | @ LAC | Thielen continues to be a reliable source of TDs at WR. Has scored a TD in 3 straight games and in all but 3 games all season. |
| D.J. Moore | CAR | @ ARI | May actually have a better chance to produce with Darnold sidelined for CAR. |
| Hunter Renfrow | LV | vs. KC | Proven to be Carr's security blanket alongside Waller with Ruggs no longer in the picture. |
| Chase Claypool | PIT | vs. DET | It will be worth monitoring Claypool's status as he undergoes an MRI for a toe/groin injury. Johnson would see an even larger target share if Claypool is ruled out. |
| Jerry Jeudy | DEN | vs. PHI | Jeudy led DEN with 8 targets in Week 9 and could be busy again with Sutton matched up with Slay. |
| Jaylen Waddle | MIA | vs. BAL | With no Parker, Waddle/Gesicki are going to be peppered with plenty of targets. |
| Emmanuel Sanders | BUF | @ NYJ | I expect Sanders to get back in the end zone after 3 straight weeks of failing to score for BUF. |
| Courtland Sutton | DEN | vs. PHI | Even with a likely matchup with Slay, Sutton is still capable of being a solid WR2 this week against PHI. |
| Christian Kirk | ARI | vs. CAR | If Hopkins is out/limited, Kirk has proven to be capable of handling a bigger workload. |
| Cole Beasley | BUF | @ NYJ | Whenever Allen needs to get the ball out quick, Beasley is his preferred target. Has seen 33 targets in the past 3 weeks of action. |
| DeVonta Smith | PHI | @ DEN | Smith finally got more opportunites in Week 9 and turned them into five receptions for 116 yards and a TD. Hopefully, we see more of that in Week 10. |
| Rashod Bateman | BAL | @ MIA | It's apparent that BAL has a plan for Bateman moving forward. Was 3rd on the team in targets in Week 9 and draws the MIA defense in Week 10. |
| Julio Jones | TEN | vs. NO | The old Julio is no longer present, but TEN could increase his usage sans Henry. Could see more targets this week if Lattimore shadows Brown. |
| Brandon Aiyuk | SF | vs. LAR | Aiyuk finally got out of Kyle Shanahan's doghouse in Week 9 and it resulted in him finishing with six catches, 89 yards, and a TD. |
| Marvin Jones Jr. | JAC | @ IND | Lawrence could be limited with a sprained ankle, so it will be paying attention to his status for Week 10. Jones could have a productive week against an IND defense that is giving up the 5th most points per game to WRs in 2021. |
| Jarvis Landry | CLE | @ NE | Despite CLE not throwing much in Week 9, Landry still led the team with 5 targets. Could be busy in the short game against an aggressive NE defense. |
| Van Jefferson | LAR | @ SF | Jefferson continues to see his role with the LAR grow as the season progresses. Wouldn't be surprised if he connects on a deep TD with Stafford in Week 10. |
| Corey Davis | NYJ | vs. BUF | Davis could return for the NYJ in Week 10, who have done a better job opening up their passing game since Wilson went down. |
| Jakobi Meyers | NE | vs. CLE | Has recorded fewer than 50 receiving yards in 4 straight weeks and has yet to score a TD. CLE's defense is a strong unit, so it's hard to get excited about Meyers this week. |
| Russell Gage | ATL | @ DAL | Someone needs to fill in for Ridley and Gage should be the No. 3 option behind Pitts/Patterson. |
| Elijah Moore | NYJ | vs. BUF | We've seen more of Moore in recent weeks, finishing as THE WR1 in Week 9. Could have a favorable game script again in Week 10. |
| Tim Patrick | DEN | vs. PHI | Patrick continues to be a reliable option for Bridgewater, but he could see a decrease in his role with Jeudy still working his way back and the possibility of Fant returning in Week 10. |
| Michael Gallup | DAL | vs. ATL | Gallup could make his return in Week 10 and should be the No. 3 wideout in an offense that is motivated to put last week's performance behind them. |
| Jamal Agnew | JAC | @ IND | Agnew has 23 targets in the past 3 weeks, and he is being utilized in a variety of ways. |
| Jamison Crowder | NYJ | vs. BUF | There's a chance we see 3 WRs on the NYJ finish in the top 50, especially in PPR leagues. |
| Donovan Peoples-Jones | CLE | @ NE | Peoples-Jones has replaced OBJ in CLE's offense and hauled in 2 passes for 86 yards and a TD in Week 9. |
| Mecole Hardman | KC | @ LV | KC is forced to try and get Hardman involved with a lack of other options at WR. He continues to be one of the biggest boom/bust plays (more bust) in fantasy football. |
| Olamide Zaccheaus | ATL | @ DAL | Zaccheaus made the most of his increased chances in Week 9, catching 2 TDs on 3 targets. Could see more work after his productive outing a week ago. |
