Opened in 1960 by Bruton Smith and Curtis Turner, this 1.5 mile quad oval asphalt track is home to two races each year. The turns are at 24 degrees and the straights bank at five degrees. This track was the first modern superspeedway to host night racing. This is among the faster tracks on the circuit given distance and open space to ramp up speed before the turns.

Favorites
Chase Elliott. (eighth selection this year) – Prevailing favorite here, he won at this race the last two years.
Martin Truex Jr. (seventh selection this year) — Martin had a streak of six consecutive top 10s at Charlotte that was snapped earlier this year. If you look at his playoff performances you see a number of top 10s and a win in 2017.
High Risk/High Reward
Alex Bowman (eighth selection this year) — I’m not letting the accident last week deter me. He has a bunch of top 10 finishes at Talladega and a tendency to rebound from poor finishes quite well.
Brad Keslowski (eighth selection this year) Brad has just two top 10 finishes at Charlotte over his last five races but he has finished but he has finished in the top 10 in all but one playoff race so far.
The Dark Horse
Chris Buescher (sixth selection this year). Chris is rarely a top 10 finisher at Charlotte but almost always a top 20 finisher. He has two top 10s so far in the playoffs.
