The final week of the NFL regular season is a wasteland for fantasy football at the best of times, but trying to navigate it from a DFS perspective after the season we’ve had has made it all the more challenging. Not only are we having to navigate the the waters of players being rested or held out for their own long-term health in a meaningless Week 17 game, but then there’s the ever moving feast of players moving on and off the COVID list to contend with as well. All together this makes selecting a competitive lineup a real headscratcher, but also means there’s loads of value to be had from those deeper (and cheaper) players looking to make a name for themselves as we close out the 2020 regular season.
So here we go and as per last week, I’ve got a couple of slightly different lineups I’ve submitted on Draft Kings for Week 17.
NFL Week 17 DFS Lineup 1
Position | Player | Team | Opponent | Price |
---|---|---|---|---|
Position | Player | Team | Opponent | Price |
QB | Mitchell Trubisky | Bears | vs Packers | $5,600 |
RB | Derrick Henry | Titans | @ Texans | $9,400 |
RB | Jonathan Taylor | Colts | vs Jaguars | $7,400 |
WR | Allen Robinson | Bears | vs Packers | $7,700 |
WR | Jamison Crowder | Jets | @ Patriots | $5,000 |
WR | Jalen Guyton | Chargers | @ Chiefs | $3,400 |
TE | Jonnu Smith | Titans | @ Texans | $3,800 |
FLEX | Sterling Shepard | Giants | vs Cowboys | $5,200 |
D/ST | Browns | vs Steelers | $2,500 |
At the heart of this week’s lineup is a pair of in-form running backs whose teams are battling it out for a division title in Derrick Henry and Jonathan Taylor. Both have sensational matchups against bottom three run defenses and Henry also has the added outside shot at 2,000 rushing yards, but needs a 223 yard day to get there.
I’ve stacked the Bears duo of Mitchell Trubisky and Allen Robinson as Chicago has a win-and-in match up with the Packers and the Bears offense has been one of the top offenses in the league over the past five weeks, averaging 33 points per game.
In the other receiver positions I have gone back to Jamison Crowder who did so well for me last week for the Jets and Jalen Guyton who is my value play and should see additional volume for the Chargers with Keenan Allen and Hunter Henry both on the COVID list.
I’ve taken Jonnu Smith as tight end as a red zone threat and Sterling Shepard in the flex after his 12 target, nine reception performance against the Ravens last week as when healthy, Shepard is the go to player in the Giants’ offense.
I’ve rounded out my lineup with a value play with the Browns DST at just $2500 against the Steelers. With it being a win-and-in game for the Browns and facing a Steelers team resting players across their roster, I’m banking on a big day for the Browns defense, and am especially looking forward to seeing Myles Garrett lining up opposite Mason Rudolph again.
NFL Week 17 DFS Lineup 2
Position | Player | Team | Opponent | Price |
---|---|---|---|---|
Position | Player | Team | Opponent | Price |
QB | Justin Herbert | Chargers | @ Chiefs | $7,100 |
RB | Derrick Henry | Titans | @ Texans | $9,400 |
RB | Jeff Wilson | 49ers | vs Seahawks | $6,000 |
WR | Justin Jefferson | Vikings | @ Lions | $7,600 |
WR | Jamison Crowder | Jets | @ Patriots | $5,000 |
WR | Jalen Guyton | Chargers | @ Chiefs | $3,400 |
TE | Jonnu Smith | Titans | @ Texans | $3,800 |
FLEX | Sterling Shepard | Giants | vs Cowboys | $5,200 |
D/ST | Browns | vs Steelers | $2,500 |
Just three changes in my second lineup, with Justin Herbert coming in at quarterback for Trubisky to stack with Guyton in a game that has little importance to the Chiefs and therefore we should see some starters rested on their defense.
I’ve also swapped out Allen Robinson for Justin Jefferson who has been a stalwart in my DFS lineups this season and faces a Lions defense that ranks 31st in fantasy points allowed to receivers. I’ve also dropped Jonathan Taylor and added Jeff Wilson who is coming off a monster game against the Cardinals and should continue to lead the 49ers backfield against the Seahawks.
