Welcome to the Roto Recap. For long-time readers, this is the new version of the Roto Report! I'm very excited to be doing this weekly now with a focus on the best-of-the-best and the worst-of-the-worst. I'll also throw in some advice on what to do with these breakouts and slumps. Let's take a look at the highlights from last week.

Hitters

Kole Calhoun - .458, 6 HR, 12 RBI, 7 R, 1 SB

Holy Kole! Calhoun (41% rostered) was on fire over the past seven days. He now has 15 home runs and 36 RBI on the season. Calhoun was hitting just .186 over the first 37 games. He is hitting .372 with an insane 1.362 OPS over the past 12 games.

Luke Voit - .385, 5 HR, 12 RBI, 7 R

DJ LeMahieu - .423, 4 HR, 10 RBI, 9 R

The Yankees have been hot recently led by Voit and LeMahieu. They are owned and started everywhere but this shows how 2019 was no fluke for either of them. I see Voit as a top 5 first baseman in 2021 and LeMahieu is arguably the top second baseman for fantasy.

  • Byron Buxton (67% rostered) - .375, 4 HR, 6 RBI, 5 R
  • Clint Frazier (45% rostered) - .364, 3 HR, 7 RBI, 8 R
  • Brian Anderson (40% rostered) - .250, 3 HR, 10 RBI, 4 R
  • Ryan Braun (35% rostered) - .409, 3 HR, 9 RBI, 6 R
  • Dan Vogelbach (3% rostered) - .471, 3 HR, 9 RBI, 6 R

Pitchers

Dinelson Lamet (1-0) - 13 IP, 2 ER, 5 H, 4 BB, 21 K

Lamet has been nothing short of awesome in 2020. He has a 2.08 ERA, 0.87 WHIP, and 12.3 K/9 this year. He ranks as the #7 best SP.

Tanner Houck (2-0) - 11 IP, 0 ER, 6 H, 3 BB, 11 K

Houck (10% rostered) has given Red Sox fans something to be happy about recently. Through his first two big league starts, the 24-year-old has a flawless 0.00 ERA over 11 IP. That being said, I'm avoiding him this week as he gets the Braves in Atlanta.

Here's a few more names to add after impressive outings:

  • Tony Gonsolin (1-1) (65% rostered) - 12 IP, 3 ER, 7 H, 1 BB, 12 K
  • J.A. Happ (46% rostered) - 8 IP, 0 ER, 4 H, 0 BB, 9 K, Win
  • Joe Musgrove (0-2) (40% rostered) - 11 IP, 4 ER, 9 H, 2 BB, 19 K
  • Antonio Senzatela (2-0) (36% rostered) - 15.1 IP, 2 ER, 9 H, 3 BB, 6 K
  • John Means (15% rostered) - 5.2 IP, 1 ER, 3 H, 0 BB, 12 K, Win
  • Kyle Gibson (14% rostered) - 9 IP, 0 ER, 4 H, 3 BB, 9 K, Win
  • Daniel Ponce de Leon (0-0) (3% rostered) - 11 IP, 4 ER, 7 H, 3 BB, 18 K
