2020 Fantasy Football Rankings: Quarterbacks for Week 2

Tiered QB rankings for Week 2.

Here are my quarterback rankings for Week 2 of fantasy football. There are plenty of great matchups this week to take advantage of in your fantasy leagues.

Cam Newton will challenge Lamar Jackson for the league-lead in quarterback rushing touchdowns. Kyler Murray is a franchise quarterback. Aaron Rodgers and Davante Adams destroyed the hapless Vikings’ secondary in Week 1. With the flailing Lions’ secondary on tap, he’s a good bet to do it again. Joe Burrow, Baker Mayfield, and Philip Rivers round out the back-end of the top tier QB2s that are virtually indistinguishable from the QB9-QB12 group.

Week 2 Tiered QB Rankings

Rank High Floor/High Ceiling QB1s Team Opponent Breakdown
Rank High Floor/High Ceiling QB1s Team Opponent Breakdown
1 Lamar Jackson BAL at HOU It's difficult to field a defense as bad as Houston's.
2 Patrick Mahomes KC at LAC Even against the Chargers, Mahomes can still finish as the overall QB1.
3 Dak Prescott DAL ATL DAL vs ATL has is a good bet to be the highest scoring matchup of the week.
4 Cam Newton NE at SEA Newton is in peak form -- especially his rushing. Seattle's JV D-Line doesn't stand a chance.
5 Matt Ryan ATL at DAL Whenever Dallas scores, Atlanta will answer.
6 Josh Allen BUF at MIA Cam Newton justed posted a 75-yard, 2 touchdown rushing line against Miami.
7 Russell Wilson SEA at NE Tough matchup but if Wilson really did wrench control of the offense away from Pete Carroll, the sky's the limit.
8 Kyler Murray ARI WAS The Washington defensive-front is a concern but the Cards' offense looked like a league-beater in Week 1.
9 Aaron Rodgers GB DET Rodgers and Davante Adams eviscerated the Vikings weak sauce secondary and now they get the DB group that Mitchell Trubisky just tossed 3 TDs against.
10 Tom Brady TB CAR Brady will carve up the hapless Carolina defense.
11 Matthew Stafford DET at GB Pending Kenny Golladay's availabilit (hamstring), this is a good spot for a shootout from Stafford.
12 Deshaun Watson HOU BAL Brutal matchup but Watson will be forced into play-making mode as the Ravens run up the score.
QB2s With QB1 Potential
13 Jimmy Garoppolo SF at NYJ NYJ's can't stop anything and Jimmy G looked sharp in Week 1.
14 Ben Roethlisberger PIT DEN Pittsburgh's passing game was solid in Week 1 and Denver's defense isn't what it used to be.
15 Drew Brees NO LV Possibly being without Michael Thomas hurts Brees' ceiling even in a great matchup. If Tre'Quan Smith is now the No. 1 WR though, Brees has a shot at more than one long TD.
16 Joe Burrow CIN at CLE Burrow established his rushing floor last week, making him a weekly candidate for fantasy starts. Hopefully readers paid attention to the Bengals Team Preview that compared Burrow's rushing ability to that of Russell Wilson.
17 Baker Mayfield CLE CIN Low-key shootout on tap here.
18 Philip Rivers IND MIN The Vikings secondary can't stop anything.
High Floor/Capped Ceiling QB2s
19 Teddy Bridgewater CAR at TB Tough matchup but Teddy will be forced inot a shootout.
20 Gardner Minshew JAX at TEN The Jags may really have their franchise QB. He'll be playing from behind in this one.
21 Ryan Tannehill TEN JAX Great matchup but will likely get game-scripted out of it.
22 Carson Wentz PHI LAR Wentz is tough to trust until the Eagles' O-Line returns to full health.
23 Daniel Jones NYG at CHI Chicago's defense didn't look great in Week 1.
24 Jared Goff LAR at PHI Carried by Robert Woods.
QB3s
25 Kirk Cousins MIN at IND Likely to be a ball-control game against Indy's stout D.
26 Dwayne Haskins WAS at ARI Some Boom/Bust potential.
27 Derek Carr LC at NO New Orleans' D was a force to be reckoned with against Tampa Bay.
28 Mitchell Trubisky CHI NYG Things are so bad in Chicago that Allen Robinson is demanding a trade.
29 Tyrod Taylor LAC KC Taylor's rushing floor may no longer exist.
30 Ryan Fitzpatrick MIA BUF Fitz is ahead of Darnold and Lock because Buffalo's scheme allows for tight end production (Mike Gesicki).
31 Sam Darnold NYJ SF Terrible matchup. Need to avoid.
32 Drew Lock DEN at PIT Brutal matchup.
