The Boston Red Sox have traded first baseman Mitch Moreland to the San Diego Padres for outfielder Jeisson Rosario and third baseman Hudson Potts.
Mitch Moreland has been traded to the San Diego Padres, as @ByRobertMurray reported. Outfielder Jeisson Rosario and third baseman Hudson Potts are headed back to Boston. Padres had an upcoming roster crunch this winter and Boston gets a couple of good prospects back.

Fantasy Impact
With Eric Hosmer locked in at first, my guess is Moreland is added depth to a Padres squad looking to make some noise in the playoffs this year. When he does get opportunities at the plate, he’s playing on a much better team with a ton of talented hitters around him meaning his counting stats could tick up a little, especially his RBI.
