Welcome back, baseball! And welcome to the Roto Recap. For long-time readers, this is the new version of the Roto Report! I'm very excited to be doing this weekly now with a focus on the best-of-the-best and the worst-of-the-worst. I'll also throw in some advice on what to do with these breakouts and slumps. Let's take a look at the highlights from Week 3 of the 2020 season.

Hitters

Fernando Tatis Jr. - .435, 6 HR, 9 RBI, 7 R, 1 SB

Tatis Jr. has certainly made a name for himself in a short amount of time. Sunday marked the 100th career game for the Padres young superstar. He has slashed .320/.385/.625 with 30 home runs and 20 steals. Tatis Jr. is putting up first-round caliber numbers and may find himself in the mix for a top-5 pick in drafts next season.

Daniel Murphy - .364, 2 HR, 8 RBI, 2 R

Murphy (58% owned) has looked great through the first three weeks of 2020. Keep in mind, he was a top-75 pick in drafts in 2019. He gets six games at Coors Field in Week 4 so we might be talking about him again next week. Pick him up!

Here’s a quick look at the standouts from the weekend to scoop up off the waiver wire:

Renato Nunez (60% owned) - .261, 3 HR, 5 RBI, 4 R

Dylan Moore (37% owned) - .300, 2 HR, 3 RBI, 4 R, 2 SB

Byron Buxton (68% owned) - .318, 3 HR, 7 RBI, 6 R

Isiah Kiner-Falefa (43% owned) - .455, 2 RBI, 3 R, 2 SB

Alex Verdugo (62% owned) - .313, 3 HR, 4 RBI, 3 R

Pitchers

Tyler Chatwood - 2.1 IP, 8 ER, 11 H, 0 BB, 4 K, Loss

Oops... Chatwood (58% owned) was a mess in what looked like a perfect matchup. He'll try to rebound against the Brewers this week. I'm benching him, not cutting him.

Antonio Senzatela - 6 IP, 2 ER, 5 H, 1 BB, 5 K, Win

Rockies pitchers have been surprisingly great this year. In fact, the team's 2.84 ERA is fourth best in baseball! I think this confirms we are living in the Upside Down. Senzatela (27% owned) is 3-0 on the season with a 2.65 ERA. Over 17 IP he has 14 strikeouts to just five walks. I'm not one to recommend Rockies pitchers but... maybe I'm recommending a Rockies pitcher.

Framber Valdez - 7 IP, 1 ER, 7 H, 1 BB, 9 K, Win

Valdez (25 % owned) has looked great this season and week three was no exception. He now owns a 2.04 ERA, 1.08 WHIP and 19 Ks over 17.2 innings. Plus, he gets the Mariners in Week 4. Add him!

Here's a few more names to add after impressive outings.

Anthony DeSclafani (46% owned) - 6 IP, 0 ER, 2 H, 1 BB, 6 K, Win

Pablo Lopez (1-1) (21% owned) - 10 IP, 2 ER, 7 H, 4 BB, 11 K

Alec Mills (40% owned) - 7 IP, 0 ER, 3 H, 3 BB, 4 K, Win

Chris Bassitt (54% owned) - 7 IP, 1 ER, 3 H, 3 BB, 3 K, Win
