Way back when I first took over Fake Teams, I started writing weekly Friday Fun articles in which I’d ask some random sports question and help distract you from the relentless ticking and tocking of the clock as you waited to get out of work.
You may not be sitting in your office watching the clock right now, but everyone can get excited for the weekend and nothing helps that quite like procrastinating work, so I’m back to offer my assistance once again.
This week’s question: If you were a professional baseball player, what would your walk up song be?
Now I went back and forth on this for a long time. There are so many good options. The key to me is that you need to find 20 or so seconds of a song that really gets you amped up and ready to smack balls around the yard.
A few honorable mentions for me are the end of Knights of Cydonia by Muse (that guitar solo gets me ready to go real fast), Undisputed by Ludacris (the full song is one of my top like three pump up songs of all time. This was my go to song in high school), and A Star is Born from Hercules (which is actually what my wife and I walked back down the aisle to).
Ultimately though I had to go with the song whose opening guitar riff means so much to me from my childhood as this is the song that introduced me into the world of classic rock:
Incidentally, Highway to Hell is also the song I want played at my funeral. Who know it had so many uses?
My wife went with the end of American Girl which is also a very good choice.
What would your walk up song be? Leave your thoughts in the comments or—if you want to tell us more and paint a verbal picture for us—write a FanPost and we’ll make sure to share it!
Hopefully this will be able to distract you for the final moments of the week.
Happy weekends!
