According to Adam Schefter, Minnesota Vikings running back Dalvin Cook will not play in 2020 until he receives a new contract.
Pro-Bowl RB Dalvin Cook no longer will participate in any team-related activities until and unless he receives a “reasonable” deal, a source said Monday.

“He’s out,” a source told ESPN. “Without a reasonable extension, he will not be showing up for camp or beyond.”
Fantasy Impact
Obviously this is big freaking news as Cook is widely considered to be a top 5 fantasy running back this year. This isn’t new to anyone as it seems each year now some stud running back starts the season holding out looking for a new contract. Last year it was Melvin Gordon and the year before that it was Le’Veon Bell. Hopefully a contract can be agreed upon before the season starts but that could be unlikely. Alexander Mattison suddenly becomes a name to pay a whole lot more attention to. If Cook isn’t ready to go to start the season, it’ll be Mattison’s backfield to run with and there’s a lot of fantasy potential back there.
