Top 600 dynasty players for 2020 fantasy baseball

The long awaited and much teased list is finally here! After many hours of working on compiling the players and arguing with myself over multiple cups of coffee, I can officially say that my first ever top 600 dynasty list is here for each and every one one of you fantasy baseball owners. Sadly, as I write this, we have no idea when any sports will start up once again during this very odd and serious time in our lives.

However, I bring you this list today in efforts to keep our fans and fellow fantasy baseball players in high spirits during this time. I enjoy fantasy sports like the rest of you that are reading this, and it brought me joy to put this list together. As for the list, it isn’t a be-all and end-all for how to run your dynasty or keeper league team, because everyone is in a different area of their window of contention for a championship. If you are looking to compete, you will obviously want to skew towards players that will provide you value and production now (even if they are older) whereas you will want to raise up the younger players if you are rebuilding. I will leave the strategy of building a great dynasty team for another article down the road. So let’s discuss my thoughts on this list!

The list below isn’t based purely on any one type of league between rotisserie, head-to-head, or points because each league has its own unique settings. I skew a little more towards head-to-head leagues since that is more what I play, but you will have to adjust the list to your leagues settings. When it came to tough decisions on this list (and there were plenty), I asked myself “If I was offered Player A for Player B, which would I rather have?” and that is how I was able to come to a decision when players were close. I take everything about a player into account for my rankings, including age, durability, ceiling versus floor, current performance, and how close they are to debuting. You will also see that pitchers, especially relievers, take a hit in the rankings because of the volatility of the position. Luis Severino and Chris Sale are perfect examples of why you don't build a dynasty or keeper league team on pitching.
