2020 Fantasy Football Rankings: Quarterbacks for Week 6

Tiered QB rankings for Week 6.

NFL: New York Giants at Dallas Cowboys Tim Heitman-USA TODAY Sports

We’re onto Week 6 and here are my quarterback rankings for fantasy football this week.

Patrick Mahomes and Josh Allen take this week’s top spots as the duo dukes it out in Buffalo. Ryan Fitzpatrick is a QB1—especially against the New York Jets. Andy Dalton is immediately fantasy-relevant on the QB1/2 border, buoyed by Dallas’ offensive scheme and studly pass catchers. Ryan Tannehill is a solid streaming option against Houston.

Week 6’s Tiered Running Back Rankings

Rank High-Floor/High-Ceiling QB1s Team Opponent Breakdown
Rank High-Floor/High-Ceiling QB1s Team Opponent Breakdown
1 Patrick Mahomes KC at BUF Mahomes and the Chiefs offense as a whole are on fire. Tre'Davious White's health will be a factor but this scheme is unstoppable.
2 Josh Allen BUF KC Allen will be pushed to make plays all day long with Mahomes and the Chiefs scoring in ways that most opponents can't against the Bills defense.
3 Kyler Murray ARI at DAL Dallas' defense is severely banged up -- and poorly coached.
4 Deshaun Watson HOU at TEN Finally free of Bill O'Brien, Watson looks like he's having fun. Solid match-up too.
5 Cam Newton NE DEN Newton's back and his rushing touchdowns should follow.
6 Lamar Jackson BAL at PHI Keep an eye out for reports on Jackson's knee injury. Presumably, it's a non-issue. It's likely last week's low rushing totaly was due to game-script but it's still worth it to collect as much information as possible.
7 Gardner Minshew JAX DET Outside of his Week 3 dud, Gardner Minshew has been extremely consistent. Detroit's defense is entirely unimposing.
8 Ben Roethlisberger PIT CLE Roethlisberger is a mid-tier QB1 every week.
9 Ryan Fitzpatrick MIA NYJ Fitzpatrick has YOLO-balled his way to mid-tier QB1 scoring thus far and he should have no problem carving up the Jets' hopeless secondary.
10 Matt Ryan ATL at MIN Get-right spot for the Falcons offense as they begin the post-Dan Quinn era.
11 Aaron Rodgers GB at TB The match-up is a concern but Davante Adams is expected to return.
12 Matthew Stafford DET at JAX Shootout on tap.
Rank High-Floor/High-Ceiling QB2s Team Opponent Breakdown
13 Andy Dalton DAL ARI Dallas's offensive scheme and their incredible pass catching talent immediately vaults Dalton into the QB1/2 territory.
14 Tom Brady TB GB The health of his pass catching corps is pivotal.
15 Jared Goff LAR at SF The Rams' offense is humming.
16 Ryan Tannehill TEN HOU Getting Corey Davis and Adam Humphries back from the COVID - Reserve List would be helpful for a date with Houston's hapless defense. Tannehill is likely to be forced to throw a lot as they try to keep pace with Deshaun Watson and Co.
17 Kirk Cousins MIN ATL Even at the QB17 spot, Cousins is still a high-quality streaming option against the Falcons' woeful defense.
18 Joe Burrow CIN at IND Tough match-up.
Rank High-Floor/Capped-Ceiling QB2s Team Opponent Breakdown
19 Nick Foles CHI at CAR Foles gets the charitable Panthers defense this week.
20 Teddy Bridgewater CAR CHI Bridgewater is the most match-up dependent fantasy quarterback. Not a great one on tap here.
21 Carson Wentz PHI BAL The one good thing that Philly has going in this one is that Baltimore can't cover tight ends. The Wentz-to-Ertz connection is key.
22 Baker Mayfield CLE at PIT Pittsburgh's defense has been harrassing opposing signal callers all year.
23 Daniel Jones NYG WAS Good match-up.
24 Kyle Allen WAS at NYG Soft match-up for Allen to get Terry McLaurin going in.
Rank High-Floor/Capped-Ceiling QB3s Team Opponent Breakdown
25 Jimmy Garoppolo SF LAR Garoppolo's ankle is tough to trust after last week's meltdown.
26 Drew Lock DEN at NE Tough match-up even if Stephon Gilmore can't go.
27 Philip Rivers IND CIN Indy is doing everything it can to keep Rivers from throwing the football.
28 Joe Flacco NYJ MIA Look elsewhere for your fantasy needs.
