The Los Angeles Rams have signed tight end Tyler Higbee to an extension that will keep him with the team until 2023. The deal reportedly will make him a top 10 paid tight end.
Another extension for the Rams, who reach agreement with TE Tyler Higbee on a 4-year deal that ties him to the team through 2023 season and makes him a top 10 paid TE, per source. Rams and @ErikBurkhardt finalizing deal this morning.— Adam Schefter (@AdamSchefter) September 5, 2019
The Rams haven’t really utilized their tight ends under Sean McVay but clearly they like what Higbee brings to the table. In his career, Higbee only has 60 catches for 672 yards and four touchdowns. Maybe this deal is a sign that Higbee will be a little more heavily featured in the offense—or at least be the number one guy over Gerald Everett—but who really knows. Don’t go adding Higbee right now, but he’s a name worth monitoring. If this offense does start involving the tight end more and Higbee is the clear-cut number one guy, he certainly will have plenty of value in fantasy.
