The New York Giants are expecting star running back Saquon Barkley to miss 4-8 weeks moving forward with a high-ankle sprain. Barkley injured his ankle Sunday against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
MRI revealed Giants’ RB Saquon Barkley suffered a high ankle sprain that could sideline him anywhere from 4-8 weeks, per source. Longer timeline is considered more likely; the Giants have a bye in week 11, which could give him eight weeks to recover and return for last six games.

Fantasy Impact
Well this sucks. Barkley was the consensus number one pick in fantasy this year and was well on his way to a great season. Sadly now he’ll be sidelined for some time (hopefully not too long). You can go add Wayne Gallman if you’d like (likely the starting back for New York now), but honestly, I’d turn my head to the waiver wire and try and snag another back who might have a higher fantasy ceiling. I’m not sure Gallman is going to thrive as much as Barkley did in the Giants offense.
