Lamar Jackson is the real damn deal and if you’ve got him, he’s likely to carry you to the fantasy playoffs. Baker Mayfield’s offensive line and Russell Wilson’s Pete Carroll are big causes for concern. Tom Brady may be the QB1 overall this season with Antonio Brown thrown into the mix.
Week 2 QB Rankings
Rank | Name | Team | Opponent | High Floor/High CeilingQB1s |
---|---|---|---|---|
Rank | Name | Team | Opponent | High Floor/High CeilingQB1s |
| Patrick Mahomes | KC | at OAK | We'll need to monitor the ankle injury. Those types of injuries can get far worse as swelling sets in, in the days that follow. He just shredded the Jacksonville defense though. Oakland should be a walk in the park. |
| Lamar Jackson | BAL | ARI | Robert Mays and Kevin Clark of the Ringer's NFL Show think John Harbaugh may have hoodwinked us when he told us Jackson would be a run-first quarterback in 2019. Jackson only rushed 3 times. He threw for 324 yards and 5 touchdowns. He's a game changer. |
| Tom Brady | NE | at MIA | The Dolphins might be looking at a record for points-scored-against through two games. |
| Dak Prescott | DAL | at WAS | Kellen Moore's brilliance is showcasing how talented Dak truly is. Washington's defense is nonexistent. |
| Carson Wentz | PHI | at ATL | Wentz is back. |
| Deshaun Watson | HOU | JAX | Watson looked as good as ever in Week 1's best game. |
| Matt Ryan | ATL | PHI | Philly's secondary got worked by Washington and they just lot DL Malik Jackson to a Lisfranc injury. |
| Cam Newton | CAR | TB | Last week was rough but this is a prime bounceback spot. |
| Ben Roethlisberger | PIT | SEA | Andy Dalton just lit them up without A.J. Green. |
| Jared Goff | LAR | NO | Goff at home is always a good thing. |
| Drew Brees | NO | at LAR | Brees looked phenomenal against Houston. |
| Josh Allen | BUF | at NYG | The defense keeps giving Allen second chances and this is a great matchup. Allen's is a fantasy dynamo. |

| Philip Rivers | LAC | at DET | Rivers played very well against a solid Indy D. Rookie Kyler Murray was able to be productive against the Lions once he shook off some 1st-year rust. |
| Baker Mayfield | CLE | at NYJ | The offensive line is a serious problem and his (supposedly) bruised throwing hand is also a concern -- not to mention the Jets' defense is top-notch. |
High Floor/Capped Ceiling QB2s | ||||
| Aaron Rodgers | GB | MIN | Matt LeFluke's donkey offense looks to be a problem. |
| Andy Dalton | CIN | SF | Dalton cleard 400+ passing yards and threw two touchdowns against Seattle. |
| Russell Wilson | SEA | at PIT | Pete Carroll's buffoonery lead to Wilson getting fewer pass attempts than Chris Carson had touches. |
| Matthew Stafford | DET | LAC | Stafford finished as the QB4 last week. |
| Kyler Murray | ARI | at BAL | Murray looked good late. This is a tough matchup though. |
| Marcus Mariota | TEN | IND | Marcus Mariota looked pretty good last week. We need to keep an eye on him. |
| Derek Carr | OAK | KC | Carr played well against Denver. He gets a softer matchup in Week 2. |
| Sam Darnold | NYJ | CLE | Darnold is the real deal. Building a team around him is a slow process though. |
| Gardner Minshew | JAX | at HOU | Gardner Minshew played really, really well coming off the bench. Keep an eye on him. |
The Zero Floor/Sky-High Upside QB2 | ||||
| Mitchell Trubisky | CHI | at DEN | It's everything or nothing. Mike Tannebaum pointed out, on Twitter, that Trubisky is not an ambi-thrower -- he cannot throw left. |
QB3s | ||||
| Jameis Winston | TB | at CAR | Arians should've stuck with Fitzpatrick. |
| Jimmy Garoppolo | SF | at CIN | Theoretically it's a good matchup. |
| Case Keenum | WAS | DAL | Keenum had a decent showing last week. |
| Kirk Cousins | MIN | at GB | HC Mike Zimmer let his quarterback, with a receiving corps involving Adam Theilen and Stefon Diggs, throw the ball just 10 times last week. |
| Jacoby Brissett | IND | at TEN | A very tough matchup. |
| Ryan Fitzpatrick | MIA | NE | New England has one of the best defenses in the league and a multitude of Dolphins players are currently requesting to be traded. |
| Joe Flacco | DEN | CHI | Aaron Rodgers could barely get anything done against Chicago. |
| Eli Manning | NYG | BUF | Buffalo's defense is going to destory Eli. |
