Fantasy Baseball Pitching Streamers for 9/10: Johnny Cueto, Chase Anderson, Justus Sheffield

Because you still need some pitching options, especially for those playoff matchups!

MLB: St. Louis Cardinals at San Francisco Giants Neville E. Guard-USA TODAY Sports

Tuesday’s going to be gone with the wind before we know it, and yours truly is headed in for a second x-ray on his right ankle this morning (side effect of a rough challenge in my adult league soccer match). But hey, at least I won that 50/50 ball! Anyway, no big time for a preamble this morning, so we’ll jump right into who to start for today.

Tuesday’s Streamers

RHP Johnny Cueto vs. Pittsburgh Pirates (37% owned)

You’d like to see a game off the IL first if you can, but Cueto’s 21:1 K/BB ratio over his 21 13 innings pitched during rehab don’t really leave me much choice. A veteran pitcher in his home park, who gets to start in San Francisco? And he should line up against the Marlins for his second start of the week? How can you not add Cueto now and see how this plays out?

RHP Chase Anderson at Miami Marlins (22% owned)

Even if he only makes it through the Marlins order twice, that could be good enough for the win. I’ll bite.

LHP Justus Sheffield vs. Cincinatti Reds (7% owned)

The Mariners skipped Sheffield’s start on Sunday in an effort to manage his innings, so he gets to avoid the mighty Houston Astros in favor of pitching against the Reds at home.

Today I’m passing over Nathan Eovaldi (too risky for little reward) and Jakob Junis (eats innings but generally torches ratios).
