Course

Pebble Beach Golf Links. Built in 1919, we get the honor of a centennial celebration from Pebble Beach. This Par 71 course is 7,040 yards with a course rating of 75.5 and a slope rating of 145. It utilizes poa annua for the greens and Winter ryegrass for the fairways. Jack Neville, the designer worked to really beautify this course as an ocean adjacent course, the one hole that will give the golfers trouble is the par 5 14th hole.

My Starting 4

Brooks Koepka (1st selection this year) — This is the obvious choice. Back to back wins plus a win at the PGA Championship. He is the best major golfer right now and it’s not even close.

Dustin Johnson (3rd selection this year) — He won the US Open in 2016 and finished 3rd last year. He chased Brooks down the stretch at the PGA Championship and he has been taking breaks here and there this year to really prepare for the majors.

Tommy Fleetwood (2nd selection this year) — 4th at the US Open in 2017, 2nd at the US Open last year, Tommy rounds out the top three elite tiers. Tommy has top 25 finishes in six of his last eight tournaments.

Xander Schauffele (2nd selection this year) — He has top six finishes the last two years at the US Open and he has top 25 finishes in four of his last six tournaments.

My Bench 2

Zach Johnson (2nd selection this year) — Besides Brooks, Zach is the only other golfer who has top 30 finishes at the US Open each of the last three years.

Patrick Reed (3rd selection this year) – 13th at the US Open two years ago and fourth last year, Patrick is oft forgotten in the mix but can still be dangerous in this pool.
