Can it be called a sleeper when everyone is eager to pick some low seed team who will provide the perennial upset and surprise people? Yes.
#1. Montana
I’ve highlighted them quite a bit already in the bold predictions article but I will go through it again. Sure they are a 15 seed battling a second seed Michigan but this team is ranked in the top ten in 2pt%, total FG% and is in the top 15 in points scored per game. Don’t think this is an easy out in the first round for the Wolverines.
Montana is definitely capable of winning a NCAA tournament game. That’s a very experienced basketball team. #Griz #BigSkyTourney

#2. Northeastern
Their guard Vasa Pusica is averaging 17.8 points per game and is hitting around 40% of his 3-pointers. In addition to this he has almost 4 rebounds per game, 4 assists and a 1.5 steals per game. The team is ranked 21st in FG%, 33rd in FT% and 14th in 3PT %. Add to this they face #4 Kansas who lost their best player earlier this season.
#3. Buffalo
Another 13 seed, Buffalo is not foreign to major upsets with their win over Arizona last year. They are great with rebounds (41.1 RBG good enough for 4th best in the country) and moving the ball around (16.9 APG, good enough for 13th most in the country). Their top five offense is largely a testament to their guard CJ Massinburg who is scoring over 18 points per game with 6 rebounds and 3 assists.

#4. Belmont
2nd in points per game, 25th in rebounds, 4th in FG %, and 1st in assists. Not a bad stat line across this team that boasts three players who are scoring almost 15 points per game as well as three with over a steal per game and one with over 10 rebounds per game. They have to play in just to play Maryland but this team could create some ripples along the way.
#5. Wofford
A 7 seed, Wofford is among the best 3 point shooting teams in the league. They are riding a 20 game winning streak, Fletcher Magee at point guard is scoring over 20 points per game with a 42.5 3pt %. Besides him Nathan Hoover, Storm Murphy, and Tray Hollowell all average over 40% of their 3pts. I really think this team could find their way in final four talk.
