Welcome to this week’s Fantasy Hockey Forecaster! In here, you’ll find:

  • Each team’s ranking for goalies, forwards, PK and PP against the other teams in the league. These stats are as of 2/21/2019.
  • Three players who are on fire (this might not even be points wise, it might be an uptick in play that signals to me they are on the cusp of some point production
  • Three players who are cooling off (this will also include players that aren’t materializing the way we expect)
  • Three free agent pickups (among all players under 50% owned, preferably some in the single digits and some that are close to 50 to feed all different sizes of leagues)
  • The schedule which will show each team they play and what the individual rankings are for each matchup, this is more useful in the daily leagues where you are looking at individual matchups

3 players who are on fire

  1. Sidney Crosby (99% owned). He now has 14 points in his last six games including six goals and a plus six.
  2. Aleksander Barkov (92% owned) . It’s gone up since last week with him now netting 13 points in his last nine games including six power play points.
  3. Frederik Andersen (99% owned). Six starts, five wins and 15 goals allowed (2.5 goals allowed per game) across 195 shots faced.

3 players who are cooling off

  1. Patrick Kane (99% owned). One goal and two assists over his last five games including no power play points and a -5.
  2. Filip Forsberg (95% owned). He has one goal and one assist as well as a -7 over his last six games.
  3. Jonathan Quick (68% owned). Six starts, one win and 26 goals allowed over that time (averaging over four goals allowed per game)

3 free agent pickups (under 50%)

  1. Casey Cizikas (6% owned). With three goals and one assist over his last six games there is nothing earth shattering there. Beyond that it’s the +4, short handed point, 46 face-offs won, 18 hits and nine blocked shots that give him strength.
  2. Lawson Crouse (11% owned). Currently on Arizona’s top line with Alex Galchenyuk and Josh Archibald, Lawson has two goals, two assists a plus five and 29 hits over his last six games
  3. Mikko Koskinen (46% owned). Filling in now for Edmonton, he is still playing well with five wins over his last seven games.
