Fantasy Hockey Forecaster: February 4th – 10th

Welcome to this week’s Fantasy Hockey Forecaster! In here, you’ll find:

• Each team’s ranking for goalies, forwards, PK and PP against the other teams in the league. These stats are as of 2/1/2019.
• Three players who are on fire (this might not even be points wise, it might be an uptick in play that signals to me they are on the cusp of some point production
• Three players who are cooling off (this will also include players that aren’t materializing the way we expect)
• Three free agent pickups (among all players under 50% owned, preferably some in the single digits and some that are close to 50 to feed all different sizes of leagues)
• The schedule which will show each team they play and what the individual rankings are for each matchup, this is more useful in the daily leagues where you are looking at individual matchups

1. Eric Staal (62% owned). With three goals and three assists over his last 3 games, he might be proving me wrong and heating up for a strong February push again!
2. Jonathan Toews (85% owned). Four goals and two assists over his last two games.
3. Carter Hart (52% owned). He can’t be stopped, 3 games and 3 wins as the Flyers extend their winning streak.

3 players who are cooling off

1. Connor McDavid (99% owned). It’s not every day I can put his name up here but with no goals and a -5 over his last three games, he’s gone a bit cold.
2. Patrick Laine (99% owned). Man has it been frustrating to own him this season, he’s so streaky. He has no points and a -5 over his last four games.
3. Sergei Bobrovsky (98% owned). Three starts and three loses with 11 goals against over that time.

3 free agent pickups (under 50%)

1. Mikael Backlund (22% owned). Among the ‘gets no respect’ players, he now has four points in his last three games, a +6 and 26 faceoffs won.
2. Travis Konecny (40% owned). He can be streaky and he, along with the Flyers, are hot – two goals and five points in his last four games and a +3
3. Darcy Kuemper (33% owned). Three starts, two wins. Going deeper, he has six wins in his last seven starts including one shutout and no game with more than 3 goals scored.
