Manny Machado is a now a San Diego Padre, so now we can at least know what to plan for as far as a landing spot. For my part, Machado is still a back-end Round 1 selection at best, but I prefer him in the top half of Round 2. Here is the news via the great Jeff Passan on Twitter:
Manny Machado's deal, as @Feinsand first reported, is for 10 years and $300 million with an opt-out after the fifth season.

A monumental deal -- the single biggest free agent contract in American sports history.
And now every eye in baseball turns to Bryce Harper. His move.
Obviously this sets a precedent of sorts. As Passan stated, now we are all waiting to see what move Bryce Harper will make, and will his contract be similar (or higher) than Machado’s?
Again, for the purposes of fantasy baseball, I don’t think this move shifts Machado’s value very much. He currently has an ADP of 15 per NFBC data. What say you, gamers? Is Machado a Round 1 pick? Or are you waiting until Round 2?
