Despite the win streak being snapped, stick with Philly

Welcome to this week’s Fantasy Hockey Forecaster! In here, you’ll find:

  • Each team’s ranking for goalies, forwards, PK and PP against the other teams in the league. These stats are as of 2/8/2019.
  • Three players who are on fire (this might not even be points wise, it might be an uptick in play that signals to me they are on the cusp of some point production
  • Three players who are cooling off (this will also include players that aren’t materializing the way we expect)
  • Three free agent pickups (among all players under 50% owned, preferably some in the single digits and some that are close to 50 to feed all different sizes of leagues)
  • The schedule which will show each team they play and what the individual rankings are for each matchup, this is more useful in the daily leagues where you are looking at individual matchups

3 players who are on fire

  1. Mika Zibanejad (77% owned). Five goals and four assists over his last five games in addition to three power play points.
  2. Kris Letang (99% owned). I am glad to see him back up among some of the best defenseman, 1 goal and five assists in his last six games to go with 1 PPP and SHP.
  3. Carter Hart (52% owned). He’s continuing the streak with 4 wins in his last 4 starts with just 8 goals allowed over that time.

3 players who are cooling off

  1. Johnny Gaudreau (100% owned). Perhaps he has the all-star home run derby curse (so um the accuracy curse?). He has 1 assist and a -3 over his last three games with no goals over his last four games.
  2. Nikita Kucherov (100% owned). Just 3 assists and a -2 across his last five games. No goals over his last nine games across 21 shots.
  3. John Gibson (93% owned). Three starts, three loses and 13 goals allowed.

3 free agent pickups (under 50%)

  1. Nick Foligno (18% owned). His line of Boone Jenner and Josh Anderson are streaky and they are getting hot, it might be a one week thing but consider picking him up.
  2. Jesperi Kotkaniemi (7% owned). I highlighted him a few weeks ago, he has goals in four straight games, he’s winning faceoffs, and he has a PPP.
  3. Linus Ullmark (15% owned). He has three wins in his last four starts. 13 Goals Allowed is rough but Buffalo is finding ways to win games
