A major mixed bag for my must starts in Week 12 with some high highs and some very low lows. Jarvis Landry (36.8 points, WR2) and Calvin Ridley (22 points, WR8) hit big time and Miles Sanders gave you solid RB2 numbers with 11.6 points as the RB19.
I’m kicking myself about Taylor Gabriel (2.9 points) as I was set on putting Anthony Miller (13.7 points, WR24) into my must starts but when with the deep threat who saw just 3 targets and one catch. The Tennessee Titans dominated the Jaguars but did it through their offense and time of possession and a couple of late Leonard Fournette touchdowns meant they finished with just 4 points as the D/ST 18. Finally the least said about Vance McDonald and his 1.1 point contribution the better (1 reception for 1 yard!). So much for carrying on the trend.
Shaking all that off, here are my must starts for Week 13 to help get you into those fantasy playoffs.
QB Sam Darnold, Jets @ Bengals - 27.7% owned
Darnold is on a tear over the past 3 weeks, averaging over 25 fantasy points by throwing for 7 touchdowns and rushing for a further 2. The Jets face the Bengals in Week 13 who allow 22 fantasy points per game to quarterbacks and crucially the most rushing points to the position. I fancy Darnold to get in the end zone himself as well as continuing the stron passing streak. Darnold is becoming a QB1 as we head towards fantasy playoff season.
WR Cooper Kupp, Rams @ Cardinals - 99.2% owned
The Rams offense seems broken but have a get healthy game in Week 13 against the Cardinals who have conceded the most receiving points in the league through Week 12. Kupp had a slight bounce back last week with 6 catches from 10 targets and should see similar or even increased targets this week. Be ready for a lift off week for the Rams passing game.
RB Jamaal Williams, Packers @ Giants - 60.8% owned
The first player to make the must starts list 3 times. Williams is the passing down back in the Packers offense and saw a season high 8 targets last week. Williams is averaging 14 fantasy points per game in the last 5 weeks and is the perfect high upside flex starter this week.
WR A.J. Brown, Titans @ Colts - 21.4% owned
The Titans offense runs through Derrick Henry at the moment but Ryan Tannehill has been a minor revelation at quarterback since taking over from Marcus Mariota. A.J. Brown has been the biggest beneficiary in the passing game, averaging just under 12 points per game in the last 5 games and in a crucial AFC match up, Brown’s big play ability could be the difference for your fantasy team this week.
TE Noah Fant, Broncos vs Chargers - 37.5% owned
Since Emmanuel Sanders left for the Bay area, Noah Fant has become the number 2 target in the Broncos offense behind Courtland Sutton and has averaged over 10 points per game in the last 4 weeks. The Chargers have been an average pass defense against tight ends so provided he retains his targets, Fant can provide you a solid floor at the tight end position this week.
