The Patriots are expected to re-sign veteran TE Benjamin Watson, per source. He was released last week, but should be back in the fold to help a position that could use the depth.

The Patriots need all the help they can on offense, especially at the tight end position. I’d wait and see what Watson has left in the tank before adding him off waivers, but he could prove to be a worthwhile add given a) how terrible the tight end position is, b) how receiver needy the Pats are and c) his history with Tom Brady.
