Prediction 1: Kyler Murray is a top 3 QB this week
Justification: Atlanta has allowed the 2nd most points to opposing QBs. Johnathan Cyprien is now on IR with a foot injury. Add that to Keanu Neal, J.J. Wilcox and questionable players Jamon Brown and Blidi Wreh-Wilson. Kyler meanwhile has thrown for at least 240 yards in four of his five games this season and rushed for at least 60 yards in two of those five games. Atlanta’s power rides more in their line so expect more of Murray and less of David Johnson.
Prediction 2: Dalvin Cook rushes for fewer than 80 yards with no touchdowns for the first time this season
Justification: He is projected as a top seven RB because he has rushed for over 100 yards OR had a touchdown in each game this season. He faces Philadelphia who has a very solid front seven this week. For context on this, the Eagles have allowed NO RB to get over 45 yards this season. Let that one sink in. Zach Brown, he’s pretty good.
Prediction 3: Houston Texans vs. Kansas City Chiefs over under is 54.5. Give me the under at 46.5
Justification: Everything in my gut says go way over this amount, Houston just scored 50 points and I mean come on it’s Patrick Mahomes, he will bounce back. HOWEVER. Consider this, Houston has just one game with over 29 points this year and they have scored 13 points or fewer to Jacksonville and Caroline. Kansas City meanwhile scored 13 points AT HOME (which they are again this week). Finally, last season (in preseason so take what you will) this game was 17-10 and I could see a situation where they one ends lopsided like 30-6. Either way, this one is bold.
Prediction 4: DJ Chark finishes as a top 6 WR
Justification: Chark is projected 23rd right now and after a 164 yard, 2 touchdown effort against Carolina that seems weak to me. He faces New Orleans who is getting torched by top opposing WR’s, they allowed DeAndre Hopkins to 111 yards and 2 touchdowns, Cooper Kupp had 120 yards, Tyler Lockett had 154 yards and 1 Touchdown and Chris Godwin had 125 yards and 2 touchdowns.
Prediction 5: Miami Dolphins D/ST is top 7 this week
Justification: Again. Because Washington. Conversely, this defense has allowed at least 30 points against each week this year so…yeah.
Recapping Week 5
Prediction 1: Jameis Winston is projected as a top 10 QB but he finishes outside the top 25
Recap: Jameis ended the day with 220 passing yards, 2 touchdowns and 3 rushes for 13 yards which put him in the 14th-16th area. If he was outside the top 20 I would give it a B but this was too close to the top ten for me. (Grade: C)
Prediction 2: Curtis Samuel has 100 receiving yards for the first time in his career and a TD and lands as a top 15 WR this week
Recap: This one was ugly. I whiffed hard here. 3 Receptions for 19 yards. That’s. It. (Grade: D)
Prediction 3: Nick Chubb finishes outside the top 25
Recap: Nick Chubb and Cleveland had a horrible Monday. Nick had just 87 yards and 12 receiving yards. Good enough for 31st -33rd in most formats (Grade: A)
Prediction 4: New England is currently -16 against Washington. Give me New England -30
Recap: New England ended up winning 33-7. Sure it wasn’t -30 but -26 was well above the line of -16. I’m not surprising many with the comment that Washington is bad. Realllllly bad. (Grade: B)
Prediction 5: Sam Ficken has three times as many FG as he’s hit all year
Results: Sam Ficken came into this week with 1 FG hit. He ended this game with 1 FG hit. Oh and he missed the PAT attempt. Outside of Cairo Santos (who is no longer employed after missing four FG during the game) Sam had the worst week for a kicker. (Grade: D)
2019 YTD Grades:
Grade A: 8
Grade B: 4
Grade C: 3
Grade D: 9
