NFL picks: Week 4

The staff makes their predictions for the upcoming slate of games.

I don’t need to tell you how crazy Week 3 was. We’re well past the allowed time for you, the alleged fantasy football fan that you are reading this article, to haven’t not seen the numerous upsets that occured last Sunday.

Obviously none of us saw the Vikings losing to the Bills, the Titans beating the Jaguars and the Patriots losing to the Lions (though if we’re being completely honest, that I at least could’ve predicted. The Patriots have not looked good this year so far and nothing is more Patriots than dropping a game they should win on prime time television early in the season. Kansas City anyone?)

Paddi did strike gold with his two ledge picks as both the Giants and the football team from Washington beat the Texans and Packers respectively. Well done.

This week was not well done for me as the Week 3 craziness set me back in the rankings quite a bit. No longer on top. Time to correct that this week.

2018 standings

Name Wins Losses Win Pct Total Gms
Name Wins Losses Win Pct Total Gms
Heath 29 18 61.70% 47
Paddi 28 19 59.57% 47
Matias 28 19 59.57% 47
Pete 27 20 57.45% 47
Matt 27 20 57.45% 47
Ghoji 26 21 55.32% 47
Nic 25 22 53.19% 47
Clark 22 25 46.81% 47
Mark 21 26 44.68% 47

Onto Week 4!

Unanimous picks: Patriots over Dolphins, Eagles over Titans, Packers over Bills, Jaguars over Jets, Chargers over 49ers

Ledge picks: Vikings over Rams (Matias), Cardinals over Seahawks (Heath), Giants over Saints (Pete), Broncos over Chiefs (Heath)

Clearly we’re all back to hating the Bills and expecting them to lose every game. Maybe they won’t lose by as much as they did back in Weeks 1 and 2 but I don’t think what we saw Sunday was some future indication to how they’re going to play the rest of the season. I thought long and hard over Eagles at Titans but ultimately I couldn’t bring myself to root for the Kiboshed Titans.

So instead, let’s root for the Giants!

I have no real inclination for this ledge pick other than that the Saints’ defense sucks so I don’t trust them to slow down Eli Manning and the Giants’ offense at all meaning this game turns into “last team to make a play wins” kinda game and I’ll take the home team. Really I just felt the need to have a ledge pick and I’m calling my shot. I wanted to take Cardinals over Seahawks because I could see that happening but I had to respect Heath’s call. Not that I can’t change my pick because he’s locked it in as a ledge pick but because I could see it happening but not enough to type in ARI instead of SEA.

By the way, this might just be the best Thursday night football game we get all season so enjoy it. Last week’s was fun watching Baker Mayfield get the Browns their first win, but we’re about to watch two of the best teams in the NFC battle it out and I am so here for it.

Anyways, here are the full Week 4 picks:
